The therapist was extremely knowledgeable and professionalBarbara, Ireland, 06 09 22

Really appreciate that I was contacted quickly after leaving a voicemail to fit me in for an appointment on that day which was badly needed. I had a deep tissue massage which was extremely helpful towards my painful back. The therapist was extremely knowledgeable and professional. I will definitely be going back very soon.

Acupuncturist Consultation
Acupuncture is a therapeutic practice that originated in China thousands of years ago. In western medicine, the goal is often to diagnose disease and treat it specifically; in acupuncture, the goal is to strengthen the entire mind and body, supporting our inherent resilience and resistance to disease. According to traditional Chinese philosophy, our health is dependent on the body’s motivating energy (Qi, pronounced ‘chee’) moving in a smooth and balanced way through a series of channels (meridians) beneath the skin that connect the interior and exterior of the body, and the internal systems to each other. Qi consists of equal and opposite qualities – Yin and Yang. When Qi becomes blocked or disrupted, illness can result. Acupuncture aims to bring all systems into balance by inserting fine needles into the meridians. It can also be used to complement conventional medicine. What can acupuncture treat? Acupuncture has been used to treat a range of conditions including: *       Anxiety and depression. *       Arthritis and rheumatism. *       Asthma. *       High blood pressure. *       Menstrual cramps. *       Skin problems. *       Pain relief in childbirth. *       Addiction – smoking, alcohol and drugs. What happens during an acupuncture session? If it is your first session, the acupuncturist will assess your general health to ensure that you receive the most effective treatment. They may enquire about your current symptoms, treatment you have received so far, medical history, your close family’s medical history, diet, digestive system, sleeping patterns and emotional state. He made me feel at ease and decreased my initial stresses very quicklyPhilip, Ireland, 04 08 20

Had a mini medical scare last week and contacted Hanover Medical Centre for a consultation, firstly over the phone and then a face-to-face assessment. The staff on the phones were incredibly professional and helpful in trying to accommodate my (stressful) needs and I would like to say a big thank you to all of them for their help. My appointment was with Dr David Gibson and he was really fantastic. Both over the phone and in person, he made me feel at ease and decreased my initial stresses very quickly. He was very courteous and made a number of phone calls on my behalf to try to find a hospital for a further appointment and pending surgery. He even followed up my appointment with a follow-up phone call to me to see if I had been accommodated with the hospital appointment. A really nice and very personal touch. Thank you, Dr Gibson, for all your help and I would definitely attend again should I be in need of medical care and attention. Many thanks to all at Hanover Medical. :)

Electro-Acupuncture
Electroacupuncture is quite similar to traditional acupuncture in that the same points are stimulated during treatment. As with traditional acupuncture, needles are inserted on specific points along the body. The needles are then attached to a device that generates continuous electric pulses using small clips. These devices are used to adjust the frequency and intensity of the impulse being delivered, depending on the condition being treated. Electroacupuncture uses two needles at a time so that the impulses can pass from one needle to the other. Several pairs of needles can be stimulated simultaneously, usually for no more than 30 minutes at a time. Electro-acupuncture is particularly good for pain relief and tension and I often use this treatment for musculo skeletal conditions.
