Dermal filler is a substance that is injected into the dermis of the skin in order to fill or plump the area. Fillers are used to treat wrinkles, creases and restore volume to the face or body. Although there are many different types of fillers, the most popular are hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers. HA is a substance that already exists in the skin; one of its’ main functions is to hydrate and plump the skin.

Despite the disappointing long-term effects, enough encouraging results have been obtained both in terms of quality and quantity.
