I am a Registered Dental Hygienist. When I came to Canada 9 years ago, I decided on a dental career as I already had a dental background in Albania. I obtained a dental assisting diploma from CDI College in 2006. After working for a couple of years as a dental assistant, I decided to expand my dental career with a long distance education program and become a certified dental receptionist. I was still not satisfied and continued wanting to grow in my career, so in 2009 I graduated from the dental hygiene program from Oxford College of Arts, Business and Technology. Since then I have been very involved in the dental hygiene profession. I have worked in the private practice performing clinical duties and educating patients about their oral hygiene. I have worked educating doctors and their dental staff on how to use digital dental software and digital x-ray equipment. I have worked as an oral health educator as well for dental conventions.
I am an active member of the Ontario Dental Assistants Association, Ontario Dental Hygienists Association, and Toronto North Dental Hygienists Society. Since 2010 I have been elected as the ODHA Ambassador for Toronto North. I am in the Newsletter Advisory Committee for the Focus Magazine that is the ODHA published magazine and in 2012 I also joined the ODHA Public Awareness Advisory Committee.
