Since its establishment in 1998, Ratoath Dental Centre has become renowned as a high quality, professional and friendly dental practice where the priority is the comfort of our patients. We have established a fine reputation for our approach to treatment and have four surgeries in our new premises.

We especially cater for nervous patients and provide dental treatment under Intravenous sedation if required. Families are most welcome and we try and make children’s visits fun! Dental treatment is provided on a private basis, but qualified patients are also seen under the RSI and North Eastern GMS (Medical Card) schemes. Our techniques and materials are continually updated to provide the latest in modern dentistry.

Cosmetic makeovers using porcelain veneers, power tooth whitening, or replacing metal fillings with white ones is very much part of what we do. Missing teeth can be replaced in many ways. These include using dental implants, porcelain crowns/bridgework, or a range of dentures using a metal framework or flexible acrylic partial dentures. We have our own resident orthodontist, a periodontist and two hygienists.

Whatever your dental needs Ratoath Dental Centre is all about the provision of high quality dentistry in a relaxed and comfortable environment at an excellent level of value.

Dental Bridges

Per Unit

A dental bridge spans the gap and replaces the missing teeth with carefully fabricated porcelain crowns which are fixed in place by attaching to the teeth on either side of the gap. Bridges are ideal for people who don’t like dentures or only have one or two teeth missing. Bridges are usually made of precious metal bonded to porcelain but with new stronger porcelains available, all porcelain bridges are now an option.

Dental Crowns

How much does a crown cost?  From € 550 depending on the material used. This is tax allowable.

A crown is a protective outer shell or cover that fits over the remaining part of a prepared tooth, making it strong and giving it the shape of a natural tooth. A crown (sometimes known as a cap) is used where teeth are badly decayed or broken, or where a tooth is very heavily filled and may lack strength. The tooth is prepared, any decay removed and restored and an impression is then taken. A dental technician then precisely fabricates a crown to fit snugly over the prepared tooth.

Dentures
Full Dentures are made of an acrylic resin material and the close fit and comfort is complimented by the quality of natural looking teeth. We can offer a range of teeth to choose from but we prefer to use the best quality available. We usually require four visits over eight weeks to make a set of complete dentures. Partial dentures are false teeth which close the gaps between remaining teeth to restore a full smile and improve your bite. They are usually made of an acrylic resin and where required a metal clasp can help to position and hold them in place.

Orthodontist Consultation
Orthodontic treatment is a way of straightening or moving teeth to improve their appearance of the teeth and function. Your teeth may be crowded or crooked. Prominent front teeth can be at risk from trauma.  Or you might have unsightly gaps between them that you may be conscious of .Orthodontic treatment can straighten these teeth or move them into a better position. This not only improves your smile but also the way the teeth bite and work together.

IV Sedation

Intravenous

sedation

(

IV

sedation

) in the treatment of nervous patients

Intravenous Sedation is the ‘state of the art’ technique for the complete control of anxiety in dentistry. A sedative drug is used to induce a hypnotic, semi-conscious state and is the method of choice for the treatment of very nervous patients. IV sedation is not a general anaesthetic, but is a safe, more controlled alternative.

Teeth Whitening

The Zoom! Whitening system is a one hour power whitening procedure done in the surgery where a strong whitening gel is applied to the teeth and activated under ultra violet light. The results can be seen at the end of the visit and up to six shade changes can be achieved

From €250
Home Whitening Kits

The Nite White at home whitening system uses a more gentle approach to apply a less powerful gel to the teeth over a longer period of time usually about four weeks. The gel is placed into the trays and held against the teeth for two hours a day until the desired whitening results are achieved.

From €500
Porcelain Veneers

Veneers are thin slices of porcelain. These are precisely made to fit over the visible surface of front teeth, like a false fingernail fits over a nail. Veneers are an ideal way of treating discoloured or unsightly teeth, closing gaps between front teeth, or repairing chips and cracks. To make a veneer, a small amount of enamel is removed from the front of the tooth (usually less than 1mm ).  An impression is taken and sent to a dental technician for the veneer to be made in the laboratory. The veneer is then bonded permanently to the tooth and the procedure is complete.

Dermal Fillers (20 mins)
Collagen treatments replaces lost volume and treats static facial lines by replenishing the natural hyaluronic acid content of the skin. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occuring substance in your skin that helps to hydrate and add volume. It is injected gently under the skin to instantly restore the skins volume, smooth away facial wrinkles and folds and redefine lips. The procedure takes 15-20 minutes and requires local anasthetic. The results are immediate and you will not need any time off work. The effects will last approx 12 months.
