I needed a complicated root canal filling and was referred to an endodontist in ROI. I felt the price quoted was prohibitive so I contacted Dr Crutchlys clinic ... and am I glad I did? From the first phone call Dr Crutchley made to me to discuss the case, until I left his surgery, I found him to be welcoming, friendly, approachable & full of banter, yet all the while being informative, professional and most importantly, excellent at his work. I was over 90 mins in the chair (root filling and re build) and Dr Crutchley kept me updated on progress every step of the way. His easy, yet competent manner made it impossible to be nervous. The clinic itself is modern, bright and very pleasant, and the staff are welcoming, chatty and friendly. It was well worth the trip from the West of Ireland, and I saved over €250, even with travel costs included. I would absolutely recommend this clinic and will be going back for my crown.Highly professionalFiachra, Dublin, 06 Nov 11
Molar Root Canal Ian Crutchley and his team provided a highly professional yet personable and friendly dental service. From my first contact with Ian when he telephoned me in response to a query posted through this website he provided a clear and concise account of the possible approaches to my dental problem, the issues involved and the potential cost.
I had been told by a Dublin dentist, accurately, that I required a root canal treatment on an upper molar (sixth). He estimated that the cost for just the root canal treatment would be upwards of €900 (£773). The cost at Crutchley's Dental Surgery for root canal treatment (excluding subsequent filling) was €565 (£485).
This is not suggest that this is a "bargain basement" dental practice as I found the clinic, located on the Lisburn Road, a far more pleasant physical environment than anything I had experienced in the Republic of Ireland. Likewise the surgery was equiped with the most modern of dental technologies.
However, what distinguishes this clinic was the extremely high level of dental craft delivered in a relaxed and comfortable environment. Throughout my procedure, which took slightly over 2 hours, I experienced little pain or discomfort and the whole character of the treatment was epitomised in the "painless injection" at its commencement (a local anaesthetic was applied via a roll of cotton placed in the side of the mouth and then Ian very slowly injected a anaesthetic). Thereafter, Ian and his assistant, Cathy, undertook the treatment in a patient and diligent manner. At all stages my questions on the procedure were clearly answered.
My root canal took place almost one week ago and I have not experienced any significant pain since and the filled tooth feels fine in my mouth.
