Nothing was too much trouble and he always explained what was happening

5 50 Braces

I attended Dublin Orthodontics for the first time in December 2016. I wanted to get a brace for my upper and lower teeth, I had a very bad overbite and my top teeth were very crooked.

My experience over two years was amazing. I had a consultation with Paul Murphy who is an absolute gentleman, always made me feel welcome and comfortable at every visit. Nothing was too much trouble and he always explained what was happening.

The reception staff are all professional, friendly and helpful, the dental nurses were professional and warm and friendly. I always felt so comfortable, thanks to you all.

Braces

Most orthodontic treatment is carried out using fixed braces, sometimes known as ‘train track’ braces. This system uses a combination of metal brackets and flexible wires to gently move your teeth. Most orthodontists believe this is the most effective and precise way to move your teeth. The metal brackets we use are very small – smaller than the ones that many people remember from 10 or 20 years ago. Colours can be placed on the brackets for younger patients.

Adult Braces

Ceramic Braces

These are very similar to the traditional metal fixed braces, but the brackets are made of tooth-coloured ceramic instead of metal, making them less visible. These are popular with adults. (Please note that food colourings can sometimes stain these appliances).

Child Braces

Lingual Braces

These braces are also made of metal, but are fitted on the inside (back) of your teeth instead of the front. They are virtually invisible, but can be more uncomfortable than conventional metal braces, and are only suited to certain types of cases.

Invisalign™

This system consists of a series of removable and virtually clear aligners which are created from 3D computer images of your teeth and mouth. Each aligner is replaced every 2-3 weeks. As you progress through each aligner, your teeth move little by little, week by week. Aligners are removed for eating and drinking, and for cleaning your teeth. Invisalign® is only suitable for minor corrections.
