CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive therapy seeks to help the client overcome difficulties by identifying and changing there thinking errors, behaviour, and emotions. This involves helping patients develop skills to change beliefs, identifying thinking errors and changing behaviours. Treatment is based the collaboration between the client and the therapist. Once those thoughts have been challenged, your feelings are easier to change. I believe that most people can overcome any emotional disability by ‘Working harder’. So be prepared for some homework, as C.B.T does require you the client to record your progress and challenge your behaviour in between sessions. But it’s not just about working harder; I will help you to ‘work clever’. The techniques of C.B.T will allow you to see your world from a new angle and this often brings relief and a new found ability to change behaviour that up until now, you may have felt would never change.

At some time or another we all face difficulties and challenges in our lives. At times these troubles can feel overwhelming leaving us feeling helpless and alone. People seek therapy for many different issues such as Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Panic Attacks, Loss, Bereavement or Addiction issues. At other times people have issues which are deeply entrenched, that have been ‘bubbling away’ for some time and are now seeking attention. Talking with an accredited therapist can help alleviate the stress and help a person learn to cope with their situation in a better way.

Sentio Clinic

(01) 513 3207 77 Lower Albert Rd, Sandycove, Dun Laoghaire
Rating from 1 Review I feel much more confident.Joanna, Ireland, 06 Feb 13

Psychoanalysis I am pleased with the result after just over one year and I feel much more confident.

Psychologist Consultation From €70
People often get confused between psychology, psychiatry and psychoanalysis. As psychoanalysts we believe that using statistical means, norms and averages, or using generic medication is not the only way to understand a symptom – rather each person is an individual with their own unique story which benefits from being listened to. Understanding the aetiology of a symptom often allows us to take a new view and thus let go of the underlying anxiety. As psychoanalysts, we do not produce standardized testing or reports, nor will we appear in court.
CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy From €70
As psychoanalysts we work to understand the why of the problem. The aim of psychoanalytic psychotherapy is not about managing symptoms but understanding their underlying or possibly unconscious causes. For example, resolving depression is not about listing positive attributes, but is usually about uncovering unknown fears or anxieties which have the effect of leaving people feeling, low, worthless, or lacking in self esteem.
Counselling From €70
Psychoanalysis deals with you as an unique individual, and as such we do not offer  advice. Analysis gives you the opportunity to understand the (often multiple) reasons for your question. During the sessions you will find the solution(s) to your problems.

Petra Kucan Psychologist

(01) 525 5342 ext: 23245 24 Upper Rathmines Road, Rathmines, Dublin, D6
Rating from 4 Reviews I would definitely recommendJonathan, Ireland, 01 May 16

I started going to Petra for issues with anxiety, stress and depression for the last few months, she has really helped me to define and reach my goals. Petra was very easy to talk to and very attentive, she helped me to identify underlying issues I had and then gave me the tools and information to work on them. I found the therapy to be well paced and I didn't feel rushed at any stage. I am still going to therapy and still working on some issues but I feel very happy in my choice of therapist. I would definitely recommend Petra to a friend. Clinic was tidy, comfortable and in a nice location.

Alice McEleney Psychotherapy and Counselling Galway

(01) 525 5342 ext: 34539 Flood Street, Galway
Alice McEleney is a qualified and experienced psychotherapist, counsellor and psychologist. She offers weekly psychotherapy and counselling in a private and comfortable setting in Galway city centre. She provides a confidential, non-judgemental and supportive space in which you can explore your experience in depth, gain new insights, and develop your ability to cope, grow and thrive. Life throws many challenges our way, and people seek out psychotherapy and counselling for many reasons. For example, you may be feeling a prolonged sense of sadness and helplessness, anxiety, worry or stress, struggling to cope with a life transition, or experiencing difficulties in your relationships. These are all common challenges, but sometimes they can be difficult to deal with without the opportunity to discuss them freely with another person. I will not judge you, give you advice, or try to “fix” your problems, but I will work with you to help you find the resources within yourself to cope with life’s challenges. Research has shown that the most important factor influencing the effectiveness of psychotherapy and counselling is the quality of the relationship between the therapist and client. I strive to build an honest, trusting and collaborative relationship with you, in which you can feel secure enough to address what is most challenging for you. I provide a safe and empathic space in which you can explore your experience and develop the inner resources you need to move towards gr
