I was recommended to Dr Hany by a friend and was instantly impressed by how quickly I was responded and how thorough Dr Hany was in discussing my medical history and my requirements moving forward. I opted for a mini gastric bypass as I suffer with reflux and heartburn, I also didn't want to have revision surgery from a sleeve to a bypass later on. From there I was put in touch with Nancy, Dr Hanys secretary. Nancy has and continues to be fantastic! She sorted out my accommodation, visa, all transport from the airport to the hospital, from the hospital to the hotel and from the hotel back to the airport. She even organised a trip to the pyramids with my own tour guides! The care I received was excellent value for money! I cannot stress that enough. I was booked in within a few weeks, paying a small deposit upfront and the balance in Eygpt. I travelled without a companion and it was a very scary experience as I'd never done anything like that before. For me, this was my best option so my husband could stay with our children and I never felt alone whatsoever throughout my stay. Nancy put me in touch with another lady having the same operation on the same day. So throughout my stay I was in constant contact with both Nancy and my bypass twin. I've never been to Eygpt before and I have to say, the eygptian people are amongst the friendliest people I have ever met. A man on the flight offered me half his sandwich and a lady offered to share her Haribo with me. The driver who picked us was great, offered to carry all my luggage. He even hugged me and gave me a gift when he dropped me off at the airport to return home. The hospital itself was not what I expected, I think in the UK we are so accustomed to what UK NHS hospitals look like. There are some steps up to the hospital, the driver was more than happy to carry our bags up for us, the man on reception asked for my passport details and asked me to fill out a form. I was escorted to the lab (which again was strange for us NHS patients as we expect to have them done at the bedside). This was probably the worst part for me because seeing the inner workings of a hospital is not what we expect in the UK and neither the driver (who was escorting us around) and the doctor spoke very little English. I'm terrified of needles and its the best blood test I've ever had! No pain and no bruising!! They also don't change the vials while the needle is in your arm and they can sometimes hurt as they change them. I was placed into a lovely private room complete with private bathroom, TV, companion bed and safety deposit box. They also did an ECG and left me alone to watch TV or sleep for the night before my operation the next morning. The operation was without complications, staff were constantly checking that I was happy and comfortable throughout. The nursing staff are wonderful!! It felt like my own family were caring for me, I cant thank them enough. The care was far superior to the NHS! I paid for a package including all my medications which was very useful, Nancy even provided me with a sim card which I heavily used without any problems whatsoever. I'm now home and healing, I'm just over a week post op and I'm feeling stronger everyday. The incisions are small so are already nearly healed and the pack of information I received from Dr Hany has been very helpful in ensuring I'm eating and drinking what I should be. My experience with Dr Hany was overwhelmingly positive, both him and all his staff are so genuine, friendly and helpful. I cannot recommend them highly enough. If you are on the fence my recommendation is to just do it! I haven't regretted it for a second and part of that is because I chose Dr Hany and his wonderful staff. I'm already more than a stone down and everything has been so much easier than I expected. When they talk about The best doctor they mean this one. I will recommend him when u need to do any bariatric procedure did mine yesterday and don’t believe that I did a procedure. No pain and they are so efficient with attending to you. Thank u doc

Dr. Islam is an excellent Obesity surgeon. I choosed Dr. Islam as many friends recommended him for me. I flew from UK to Dr. Islam to have my gastric sleeve done in August 2022. I lost about 6 St. in weight and I am happy with the new version of me. I would recommend Dr. Islam for anyone deciding to go for gastric sleeve. Everything was organised from the time I reached Egypt. Walid was waiting for me, he took me directly to the hospital where I did my preoperation tests and I did my surgery the day after. The bedside manner was excellent, the hospital was very clean and all the team was very professional.

It was a great meeting & had a surgery gastric balloon. Everything was fine & successful.
