Varicose vein is a very common disease.  It may present in several ways.   Aside from an obvious bulging or flat leg veins of the leg,  patients may experience leg ache, heaviness or even pain.   If left untreated, the varicose veins worsens with time.  Some of the complication associated with varicose vein include hyperpigmentation, venous stasis ulcer, lipodermatosclerosis and others.  There are several treatment options available such as:1.  High ligation and Vein stripping,2.  Endovenous thermal ablation using Laser or Radiofrequency, 3.  Mechnicochemical ablation using the Clarivein system4.  Ambulatory microphlebectomy5.  Transilluminated, ultrasound guided sclerotherapy 6.  Superficial spot RF therapy for spider veins and telangiectasiaPrior to any varicose vein treatment, it is recommended that the patient undergo clinical evaluate which includes history & PE and if needed venous duplex study.   Treatment plan is based on the clinical evaluation and assessment.  At times patient may undergo  one or two or a combination of the different treatment modalities.  All our interventions mentioned above except for the high ligation and vein stripping are done in the office- as an outpatient procedure.

Are you suffering from painful venous ulcers ? We are a dedicated clinic specializing in the clinical evaluation, diagnosis, sclerotherapy & Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT) of varicose veins and venous ulcers of the legs. This treatment is given on an out-patient basis and does not require any sedation, sutures or general anaesthesia. The treatment takes about one hour and the patient walks immediately after ?the procedure.  EVLT is safe, effective and the most modern treatment for symptoms and complications of varicose veins. Many people have venous disorders of the lower limbs without any signs. They may feel some kind of heaviness or tiredness in the limbs.The earliest visible sign to develop are spider veins and reticular veins. These patients are normally not advised EVLT. Certain lifestyle changes and compression stockings are prescribed. Left untreated, the next stage of development is varicose veins - dilated, worm like swellings in the legs, below the skin, progressing to limb swelling, skin changes and finally ulcers on the affected leg.
