Dr Graeme Harpham
Job Title:
Practice Therapist Biography:
Dr Harpham qualified from the Durban University of Technology with an M.Tech: Chiropractic degree as well as post graduate training in Kinesio Taping, and F.A.K.T.R. Technique, and has been in practice as a Diversified Chiropractor in Durban since 2005. His varied practice caters for people of all ages. Dr Harpham’s philosophy of Chiropractic involves the correction of the entire musculoskeletal system; in short… this means that to get the best cost / time effective treatment, as well as the most patient comfort during the adjustment procedure, one needs to treat both the ‘muscles’ and the ‘joints’. These two aspects of the body are intrinsically related, especially in the spine, a dysfunction in either area can very easily affect the other. It is for this reason that some treatment protocols by other therapists may not be as effective as expected, or the problem just returns after a while, or it takes an inordinately long treatment period . Dr Harpham always treats the muscular or ‘soft-tissue’ dysfunction first, thereby paving the way for the specific treatment of the ‘biomechanical’ part (or joints) via the Adjustment in such a way as to be comfortable and to allow the body to hold the Adjustment in an effective way. Dr Harpham has also been a part-time lecture at The Durban University of Technology since 2009, in nutrition and medical diagnostics (both theoretical and practically in the laboratory and hospital setting). Dr Harpham also serves as an external examiner at DUT, as well as being a Masters Research Supervisor for chiropractic students. Accomplishments: Kwa-Zulu Natal Regional Coordinator of the National Chiropractic Internship Committee. Chairperson of the Kwa-Zulu Natal branch of the Chiropractic Association of South Africa.
