"This clinic offers quite informative consultations"
60%Reviewed 11 May 2017 Verified user. Review confirmed by phone and email.
Treatment Received: Plastic Surgeon Consultation
This clinic offers quite informative consultations but their prices are very high, I did not like the charge at all, So I opted for another clinic but if the price does not affect you then go for it.

The clinic was very clean, looked very professional and the consultation was decent but their prices were just way too high.

"I decided to make a full upper jaw implant"
100%Reviewed 02 Oct 2015 Review verified by phone and email.
Treatment Received: Dental Implants
In 2014 I realised I had to do a full upper jaw implant because my front teeth were moving whilst those that did not move were in a very bad condition, also my upper jaw held a denture with three teeth . I felt so inferior when socialising and was on the panicky side when thoughts that my front teeth could fall!! Also I had to take off my denture everyday before going to sleep and put in water or after eating I had to clean them with water!

After taking some advice from some friends of mine with similar experiences I decided to make a full upper jaw implant at St. James with Dr.Mark Diacono . An appointment with Dr. Diacono, and he explained the procedure step by step. It was a four hour operation and I could not have been in better hands. His clinic staff are marvellous and his assistants are professional. During my recovery period my replacement broke, but it took only a morning phone call and I was seen that same day and had everything put in order again, Dr.Diacono assistant even stayed in during her break! Until I had my implants , I was taken care of regularly by Dr.Diacono. I truly thank God for the care I had been given. A big thank you for Dr. Mark Diacono and his assistants and clinic staff.

Arm Lift
Enhancing your appearance with an arm liftFluctuations in weight, growing older and even heredity can cause your upper arms to have a drooping, sagging appearance.Exercise may strengthen and improve the underlying muscle tone of the upper arm, but it cannot address excess skin that has lost elasticity or underlying weakened tissues and localized fat deposits. If the underside of your upper arms are sagging or appear loose and full due to excess skin and fat, an arm lift may be right for you.An arm lift:Reduces excess skin and fat between the underarm and the elbow Reshapes your arm to result in smoother skin and contours Results in a more toned and proportionate appearanceWhat is an arm lift?An arm lift, or brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure that reshapes the under portion of the upper arm, from the underarm region to the elbow. The procedure is performed to:Reduce excess sagging skin that droops downward Tighten and smooth the underlying supportive tissue that defines the shape of the upper arm Reduce localized pockets of fat in the upper arm regionIs it right for me?In general, candidates for an arm lift include:Adults with significant upper arm skin laxity Adults of any age whose weight is relatively stable and who are not significantly overweight Healthy individuals who do not have medical conditions that can impair healing or increase risk of surgery Non-smokers Individuals with a positive outlook and realistic expectationsWhat

Breast Implants
WHY AND WHEN IS A BREAT ENLAREGENT PERFORMED? The size of a woman’s breast will largely be determined by genetics but it will also be influenced by fluctuations in weight, pregnancy, breast feeding and hormonal changes. Some women have problems with asymmetry (one breast much larger than the other). Others have very small breasts, breasts that are out of proportion for their frame or breasts that decrease in size after pregnancy. Surgery would not usually be offered to a teenage girl whose breast might not have reached full maturity. WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THE OPERATION? Breast enlargement surgery will usually be performed under a general anaesthetic, takes one to two hours and in some cases might be performed as a day case without the need for an overnight stay in hospital. The surgery involves placement of an implant either under the skin and breast tissue or deeper under the muscle under the breast. There are many different types of implant available. They all have a silicone outer layer but may be filled with silicone (cohesive gel that doesn’t run if cut), saline (salt water), oils or a combination of these. The choice of implant should be discussed with your surgeon and the position of the scars should also be discussed. There are different techniques available which result in different scars either under the breast, around the nipple or in the armpit. Before the operation, depending on your age and fitness, you may have to undergo some simple health checks

Breast Lift
Enhancing your appearance with a breast liftA woman’s breasts often change over time, losing their youthful shape and firmness. These changes and loss of skin elasticity can result from:Pregnancy Breastfeeding Weight fluctuations Aging Gravity HeredityAlso known as mastopexy, a breast lift raises and firms the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast contour.Sometimes the areola becomes enlarged over time, and a breast lift will reduce this as well. A breast lift can rejuvenate your figure with a breast profile that is youthful and uplifted. If you want your breasts to look fuller you might want to consider an augmentation at the same time.Is it right for me?Breast lift surgery is a highly individualized procedure and you should do it for yourself, not to fulfill someone else’s desires or to try to fit any sort of ideal image.A breast lift is a good option for you if:You are physically healthy and maintain a stable weight You do not smoke You have realistic expectations You are bothered by the feeling that your breasts sag, have lost shape and volume Your breasts have a flatter, elongated shape or are pendulous When unsupported, your nipples fall below the breast crease Your nipples and areolas point do

Breast Reduction
AM I CANDIDATE FOR BREAST REDUCTION? Some women have problems with asymmetry (one breast much larger than the other) or have very heavy or pendulous breasts. Very large breasts can cause back ache, neck pain and irritation of the skin underneath the breast. It can be hard to find suitable clothes and comfortable bras, and certain sports can be difficult. For some women having large breasts can make them very self conscious. WHO CAN HAVE REDUCTION SURGERY? Any women with very large breasts that are problematic can be considered for a breast reduction. The size of a woman’s breasts will largely be determined by genetics but it will also be influenced by fluctuations in weight, pregnancy, breast feeding and hormonal changes. For these reasons most surgeons advise that surgery is only undertaken when the woman’s breasts have reached maturity (ie best not performed on young teenagers) and the patient maintains a stable weight. You may be asked to lose weight to achieve a healthy BMI (body mass index) before surgery is offered. Ideally surgery should be delayed until any planned family is complete but special cases can be considered. SURGERYA breast reduction is usually performed under a general anaesthetic, takes between 3 and 5 hours and requires a 1 day stay in hospital. There are a number of different techniques that the surgeon can use. There may be a scar underneath the breast, one around the nipple or even a vertical scar running down from the nipple t

Facelift
AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR A FACELIFT?As we age, the muscles of the face get weaker and the skin becomes less elastic, hence wrinkles develop. The extent to which this occurs varies considerably between individuals and may be influenced by inherited factors and external influences such as sun exposure, smoking and weight loss. A face lift is a surgical procedure which can tighten the skin of the face and hence reduce wrinkles, folds and some fine lines. The effects can last for up to ten years. A separate surgery involving eye lifts (Blepharoplasty) or brow lifts may be needed to tackle forehead wrinkles or droopy eyes. Problems with the saggy eyelids will also not be solved by a facelift and separate eyelid surgery may be needed. These procedures may be done simultaneously. WHAT DOES THE OPERATION INVOLVE? The operation involves a general anaesthetic which means that the patients will be asleep during the procedure. In rare cases it can be performed under local anaesthetic with sedation. Most patients will need to stay in hospital overnight. There are several different techniques that can be used but in general the surgery involves a scar that runs in the hairline of the forehead, down in front of the ears and continues underneath the earlobe and in to the hairline behind the ears. Extra scars along the chin may or may not be required. Since different techniques may be used it is important to discuss the exact position stitches and scars with your Surgeon, du

Liposuction
AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR LIPOSUCTION? Liposuction is a treatment for the removal of excess fat. It is ideally suited for the removal of localised fat deposits especially on the thighs, buttocks, hips, loins, abdomen, arms, neck, inner knees and ankles. It can lead to permanent change in body shape and contour and is very useful to treat stubborn areas that are resistant to diet and exercise. It is not a suitable treatment for generalised obesity and will not improve cellulite or stretch marks. Liposuction permanently removes fat cells which are never replaced and hence the change in body shape can be permanent. However, the remaining fat cells can increase in size as weight is gained and so weight loss may not be permanent unless a healthy lifestyle is adopted. Liposuction may also be used for the treatment of lipomas (benign (non-cancerous) tumours of fat), gynaecomastia (fatty breast development in men), and for adjusting the shape of breasts after reconstructive surgery. WHAT DOES THE TREATMENT INVOLVE? Liposuction is usually performed under a general anaesthetic (the patient is asleep). In some cases, for treatment on the lower body, it can be performed with an epidural like that used for women in labour. This involves a needle in the back which numbs the lower half of the body but leaves the patient conscious. Local anaesthetic is only suitable for liposuction on very small areas of the body and is not often used. In most cases the surgery can be perfor

Otoplasty
If Youre Considering Ear Surgery...Ear surgery, or otoplasty, is usually done to set prominent ears back closer to the head or to reduce the size of large ears. For the most part, the operation is done on children between the ages of four and 14. Ears are almost fully grown by age four, and the earlier the surgery, the less teasing and ridicule the child will have to endure. Ear surgery on adults is also possible, and there are generally no additional risks associated with ear surgery on an older patient. If youre considering ear surgery for yourself or your child, this information will give you a basic understanding of the procedure-when it can help, how its performed, and what results you can expect. It cant answer all of your questions, since a lot depends on your individual circumstances. Please be sure to ask your doctor if there is anything you dont understand about the procedure. All Surgery Carries Some Uncertainty and RiskWhen ear surgery is performed by a qualified, experienced surgeon, complications are infrequent and usually minor. Nevertheless, as with any operation, there are risks associated with surgery and specific complications associated with this procedure.A small percentage of patients may develop a blood clot on the ear. It may dissolve naturally or can be drawn out with a needle.Occasionally, patients develop an infection in the cartilage, which can cause scar tissue to form. Such infections are usually treated with antibiotics; rarely,

Rhinoplasty
WHO WOULD CONSIDER A NOSE JOB? The shape of a person’s nose is largely an inherited characteristic. The shape is determined by the bone and cartilage which make up the skeleton of the nose, over which the skin is draped. Some people are unhappy with the size or shape of their nose. Injury can also lead to an unsightly appearance. A rhinoplasty can help in all of these situations. However, rhinoplasty is not an effective treatment for snoring or for sleep apnoea. The nose doesn’t stop growing and changing until age 16 and it is therefore inadvisable to consider surgery before this. WHAT IS INVOLVED IN THE OPERATION? To change the shape of the nose, the underlying bone and cartilage need to be adjusted. Small cuts are made on the inside of the nose or in the skin under the nose. This allows the surgeon to reach the bone and cartilage under the skin and to reduce or reshape as required. The bridge of the nose, the nostrils and the tip of the nose can all be adjusted. In some situations areas of the nose need to be built up. This is known as an augmentation rhinoplasty, using bone, cartilage or synthetic materials. Bone can be taken from another area of the body such as the hip or ribs. Cartilage may be taken from the ear or from another part of the nose. Many cases are performed under a general anaesthetic which means that the patient is asleep during the procedure. In some situations a local anaesthetic can be used which means that the patient remains consci

Closed Rhinoplasty

Tummy Tuck
REASONS FOR WANTING AN ABDOMINOPLASTY Whilst some people might look for an Abdominoplasty as a short term escape route from a healthy diet and exercise, it is many times requested by candidates who experience excess skin on the tummy, droopy skin and lax abdominal muscles which actually occur after weight loss, multiple pregnancies or twin or triplet pregnancies. In both cases the Surgeon needs to assess the particular situation of each patient applying for such treatment. In the latter cases the problem does not respond to further dieting or exercise and the only way to resolve the problem is surgical excision of the excess skin. THE SURGERYThe operation involves cutting out an ellipse of skin between the pubic bone and the navel (belly button). This takes with it the underlying fat and if necessary tightening of the muscles and liposuction maybe considered at the same time. Once the ellipse of skin has been removed, the skin above the navel is pulled down and stretched towards the skin below the pubic bone and they are stitched together. This skin is pulled down over the belly button and a new hole needs to be made for the belly button to come through. The result is two scars, one along the lower tummy at the level of the pubic hair and another around the navel. The lower scar should be concealed by most styles of underwear and swimwear. The operation involves a general anaesthetic and a hospital stay of 1 day. The best results are obtained in patients

Spider Veins Treatment
What is the difference between veins and arteries? The heart pumps blood through the arteries to all parts of the body - the vital organs, the head, arms and legs. The blood is then spread through tiny vessels called capillaries which form a network . Later it is returned in increasingly large vessels - veins - which complete the circulation of blood back to the heart. The arteries are rather thick and elastic and their size constantly changes due to the fluctuating pressure which varies with the heartbeat. The veins, on the other hand, have very thin walls and have no elastic fibres. They are therefore unable to contract and push the bloodflow onwards. The veins are completely dependent on the functions of the surrounding muscles and the valves inside the veins helping the blood to flow in the right direction towards the heart. What are varicose veins?Varicose veins are permanently dilated (widened) and twisted veins. Although this can occur in any part of the body, it usually develops in the legs. Veins contain one-way valves every few inches to help the blood return to the heart against gravity. If these valves leak, then the increased pressure prevents the blood from draining properly. The valves may leak and fail because of previous vein disease, eg thrombophlebitis, pressure on the veins in the pelvis from pregnancy or other causes of raised pressure within the abdomen.Varicose veins come on with advancing age and are often no great inconvenienc
