Dr Alex Negoescu is LifeCare Dental’s Principal Dentist
and graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 1980 from the University of Sydney.
Prior to this, he completed a Bachelor of Arts from the University of New South Wales. During his university years, Alex trained as a lieutenant in the Army Reserve (infantry) and spent all of his holidays and spare time on army camps. After graduating as a dentist, Alex relocated to Port Headland, where he worked for five years and met and married his wife Kate. Alex and Kate have two grown children – Loulou who is studying physiotherapy and John who is completing a Master’s degree in strength and conditioning.
Alex founded LifeCare Dental in 1989 and now has over 34 years of experience practicing dentistry. He has grown his practice by one dentist a year for 25 years and places a strong emphasis on continuing education within LifeCare. His focus is on his dentists having the highest standard of evidence based dentistry and in addition to mandatory Continual Professional Development points, all LifeCare dentists are required to keep up their studies. Not only does Alex operate as LifeCare’s Principal Dentist, but he also mentors dental graduates, passing on his wealth of experience to young dentists.
In 1998 Alex was involved in one of the two yearly Australian Dental Association conferences where four of his dentists conducted a live implant demonstration on stage. He has presented at a Dental Corporation Australia conference on building a successful practice and is a member of the Australian Dental Society, Prosthodontic Society, Periodontics Society, Endodontics Society and Osseo-integration Society.
In his spare time, Alex enjoys travelling with his family, relaxing down south and skiing. He is also an avid gym enthusiast, working out regularly at the ‘Mill Gym’. Alex speaks fluent Romanian and has visited Papua New Guinea for volunteer work.
