What are Lumineers?

Lumineers are thin porcelain shells made of cerinate ceramic that are placed over teeth to improve the smile of patients. They are placed by dentists who are specially certified to perform the procedure.  They are bonded to the tooth to augment its appearance. It takes 60 to 90 minutes to place Lumineers.

What is the difference between a Veneer and a Lumineer?

Cerinate ceramic that is used to make Lumineers is thinner than the porcelain used to make veneers. The tooth needs to be prepared before placing veneers. Lumineers are very thin and have the thickness of a contact lens. No tooth preparation is required to place Lumineers. Veneers are made of porcelain, zirconia or composite resin. Lumineers are made only of cerinate ceramic. Lumineers are costlier than veneers.  The procedure for placing veneers is not reversible, as some of the tooth has to be removed, while the procedure for placing Lumineers can be reversed.

Is having Lumineers fitted painful?

No grinding or tooth preparation is required for placing Lumineers. The procedure is pain free.

How are Lumineers fitted?

The dentist takes the impression of the teeth of the patient. The impression is sent to a Lumineers laboratory so the restorations can be made. On the next visit the dentist will bond the Lumineers to the teeth of the patient after checking the comfort of their bite.

What care is required after fitting Lumineers?

Patients should follow correct dental hygiene and brush and floss their teeth regularly. They should attend their dental clinic for their scheduled follow up appointments. They should not eat hard or chewy food products. They should avoid food and beverages that could stain the Lumineers.

Rating from 9 Reviews The results exceeded my expectations, my teeth look fantasticBob, Canada, 30 Jan 18

I searched and searched, read reviews and searched some more. Finally settled on Denstetica for Veneers and a bridge, all on my top row. I was very apprehensive going to a foreign country, but excited as well. Denstetica is not a large practice by Western standards but the staff were amazing and very friendly. Dr. Bonila and Dr. Pena made sure I was well informed and comfortable with what was going to happen. It was a bit painful, it takes time to get so much done, but Dr. Pena constantly checked in to see how I was doing. The results exceeded my expectations, my teeth look fantastic! The cost was very affordable at $4800 US

Punta Cana Oral Health

(01) 525 5342 ext: 38101 Bv. 1ero. De Noviembre, Cedro, edificio no 404,, Punta Cana, 23000
Rating from 2 Reviews Amazing!Kaye, Canada, 20 Nov 16

During my vacation in Punta Cana, I experienced some teeth pain and the beginning of my vacation was not a happy one. I googled "best dental surgeon in Punta Cana" and Dr. Miguel Asenjo was the first to show up. I did my research on him. I went on his Facebook and Instagram and noticed he has almost 10,000 followers!! I looked at all his work and I was amazed, but still skeptical, as I am a Canadian Citizen and I've heard so many stories about getting horrible dental work outside of Canada. I WAS WRONG!!!! All the staff at my resort knew him and said he was the best in Punta Cana and that many future soon to be dentist looked up to him. I emailed Dr. Asenjo and not only did he reply back he also called me back right away. He was so comforting and told me he would take care of me and he knew how expensive Canada charges for dental work, and told me not to worry about the money, and that he wanted to make sure I wasn't in pain anymore. I was very nervous before I met him the next day, just like any tourist would be, but when I met him I felt so relaxed and he was amazing. His office was clean and the technology he had was wayyyyyyyy more advanced than Canada!!! I couldn't believe my eyes!!! He gave me two fillings, X-rays and a cleaning and let me tell you this, my cab ride cost more than his services!!!! He also noticed I was missing a few teeth and needed two dental implants. He asked me why I haven't fixed them and I told him that my dentist in Canada quoted me $12,000 for two dental implants. He told me that was horrible and that he would help me and fix them for less than a quarter of what I was quoted on!!!!! I feel like I FOUND THE DENTAL GOD!!!! I believe everything happens for a reason and I am so grateful I trusted my gut and met him. I am flying back to Punta Cana in February to fix my dental implants and also get 5 crowns. This dental work I would never be able to afford in Canada. His work is A++++! Quality is amazing!!!! Please check him out on Instagram @drmiguelasenjo HE WILL NOT DISAPPOINT YOU! Thank you Dr.Miguel Asenjo for your hospitality and your caring personality!!! I will refer you to all my Canadian and USA friends for now on!! See you soon in 2017 when I come back for my next appt. Hispadent - Jose Alonso MD, DDS, FACS

(01) 901 0176 ext: 71352 Calle Rafael Augusto Sanchez 6, Piantini, Santo Domingo
Rating from 27 Reviews I am eternally grateful to Dr. Alonso.Leo, US, 02 Feb 16

After many years with self-esteem issues because of my smile, I decided to search a cosmetic dentistry professional; here in the US was quoted around 12,000 dollars for twelve porcelain veneers. Because of my limited budget, I had to search other destinations instead of doing my work in Florida. My option was to search in Costa Rica, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic, where I found Hispadent and Dr. Alonso, who made my porcelain veneers. My experience with Dr. Alonso was great. He's very patient, explaining everything in detail, and (something very important since my procedure was over several hours) let me rest a few minutes during the procedure. I can only say that I can smile in public, taking pictures, selfies, and that has changed my life. I am eternally grateful to Dr. Alonso. See you in August; my wife is having porcelain veneers too. Thank you!

A dental implant is a small cylinder of titanium, which is placed in the bone of either jaw, to provide a permanent foundation for a crown, bridge or precision denture. An implant becomes a part of you. The body accepts titanium, like no other metal and because of this, your dental implant is a truly long term, predictable way to replace missing teeth. A dental crown or dental bridge, secured to a dental implant, provides a complete and beautiful solution for improving your smile.
