I'm from Australia and was going to Europe so I thought I'd look at places to get dental crowns done. The Whatclinic site threw up some highly rated clinics out of the thousands that are in Turkey. I sent the identical enquiry to 5 clinics. Most responded almost immediately. Some were low priced some were high. One clinic took a look at my teeth and included in the price 10 root canals! This suggested they thought the job was so difficult, that most of the teeth would need to be killed to be able to work on them. İstanbul Diş Akademisi came in at the middle to low priced end, very competitive. The attention to detail and ability to communicate however was very high-end. The person attending to me was Onur, who's English was excellent and his understanding of dental concepts was extensive because his answers were immediate and detailed. We agreed terms. I was taken to the clinic straight from the airport and after x-rays was given a thorough examination. Onur went through the options and explained that my case was a little complicated, which I knew already from decades of mouth/jaw/teeth problems. He explained that my upper jaw had not developed in line with the lower jaw, so a "V" shaped upper jaw sat on a normal "U" shaped lower jaw. This caused unsightly underbites on the SIDES of tooth line along with no overbite at the front. It was an ugly mess in there and I said I wanted to have a normal U on U tooth line with a normal overbite at the front. Onur assured me they would do their best. I though, thought the chances of being able to correct this without jaw surgery or long-term pallet expanders was slim. Well, Onur and his expert team achieved in just four days what could only be described as a miracle. I got exactly what I thought was impossible and without the need for any root canals. İstanbul Diş Akademisi achieved through expert computer design and manufacturing, -their facilities are hyper-modern and state of the art- what I was told in Australia could not be done. Even the uneven gum line was corrected without the need to cut into gums. Apart from their incredible ability, their warmth and customer attention was amazing. There was a real sense of caring and of not just being a number. Payment was simple and instant with Revolut and most of all, un-pressured. It turns out Onur is actually the General Manager and so to have that level of attention speaks volumes for this boutique clinic that is bound to grow in stature and reputation amongst a very crowded marketplace. I consider Onur and his team like family now and would not even think about going anywhere else. If six stars was available they would receive them from me.

I'm now very happy with my new smile. I had a smile makeover with zirconium crowns. They provided a great service at a reasonable price. It's great to be able to smile with confidence. I had no problems communicating with my dentist. There was no need to translate anything as she was fluent in English. It was a fairly straightforward procedure and I was able to choose and decide everything. My treatment was completed in five days. All transfers and bookings were well organised. Urology consultation, Gynecology consultation, Internal Medical consultation. Xrays, ultrasound, CT scan, blood tests examinations, reviews of all investigations and medications prescribed. It was all done over 2 days. I have been through a number of investigations, examinations, blood tests etc. and have seen 3 consultants. I was so pleased with their care, attention and also the respect and kindness they showed me. There was one particular member of your staff who helped me enormously. Her name is Seda and she works as your translator and all the other things she does. I have no idea how I would have managed without Seda's care and attention. My head was spinning as I went from one place to another in the hospital. I would have been extremely stressed if I hadn't had Seda's help and support. She took control and made sure I received everything I needed with such expertise and professionalism. I have heard other foreigners living here speak of her with the same admiration. I hope that the management/bosses read and acknowledge what an asset Seda is to your company and give her the recognition she deserves for the great work she does.

The entire office staff and physicians are completely wonderful and I would highly recommend this practice. I was traveling and had a cut on my front tooth and they repaired it flawlessly. I am so grateful to everyone and would highly recommend again!

Dr Johan was very professional and did a brilliant job with my teeth bonding. He also gave me all the necessary information related to my insurance cover. It’s somewhere I will go back to and I highly recommend him.

The clinic contacted me quickly and offered an appointment- a car was sent to the hotel and Heidi was there to greet us. On arrival you are asked to wear shoe protectors to avoid any cross-contamination I had an OPG panoral X-ray taken and a quick examination this cost £20. I said I had a molar tooth where the composite had worn away and needed renewing and the dentist confirmed - there was no decay and it was one surface of the tooth - occlusal and I was told this would cost £80 this was due to new pricing fixed by the government (the price would be the same if I had needed an injection, my tooth had been decayed and if the filling covered several surfaces and needed built up using clamps ie a more time-consuming procedure) I was also offered a scale and polish for £80 which I declined. My oral health is pretty good and as there is very little plaque my dentist at home would normally do this in with the price of a filling. The filling I had was what I would expect done in the UK - the previous composite was removed and re-etched then a new composite inserted using ultraviolet light to set the filling. Quick and painless. I asked to have my X-ray emailed to me which they did straight away and Heidi brought us back to the hotel and was even kind enough to drop us off at a pharmacy on the way back. I would definitely use this practice again. Clean and efficient and most of all informative every step of the way.
