"Was one of my most pleasant dental experiences"
5 50Reviewed 17 Apr 2016 Verified user. Review confirmed by phone.
Treatment Received: Teeth Cleaning,Dental Checkup,Dental Crowns,Ultrasonic Scaling,White Filling,Zirconia Crown
I went in for a regular cleaning and checkup and discovered that I had two slightly fractured teeth. Dr Skouras filed the fractures away and then filled them with composite and capped them.
I had no pain, which is unusual for me, and I did not feel nervous, since Dr Skouras and her assistant were wonderful and put me at ease. I have had a lot of dental work in my life and so tend to be nervous, but I can say that my experience at SkourasDent was one of my most pleasant dental experiences.

Dr. Skouras is a well-educated and kind person. She and her assistant are very friendly and nice, and their English is perfect. I chose SkourasDent at first because the practice is listed on the US Embassy's list of recommended doctors, and I will be going back and also bringing my children there for all their dental needs.

"It feels wonderful to have a beautiful smile"
5 50Reviewed 03 Feb 2016 Review verified by phone and email.
Treatment Received: Gingivitis Treatment,Zirconia Crown,Dentist Consultation,Root Canals,Fillings,Dental Bridges,Dental Crowns
I had gum treatment from advanced gingivitis and bite correction with zirconia crowns in Skourasdent clinic.

I started from gum treatment and consultation about many other issues (decay, crooked teeth, etc) that needed to be solved. I was ready for bigger reconstruction and came across this clinic while searching for a trustworthy clinic in Athens.

Dr. Skoura got to know my needs and examined overall health of the teeth, we discussed options and made personalized treatment plan based on the health priorities, my abilities and time. I was presented with a few options and chose the rapid treatment for quick results.

The result of the gum treatment was significantly and instantly improved health of gums which added a lot of comfort for everyday life.

Later on we started with root canal treatments, fillings, bridge and crowns for problematic teeth.

After the bite correction with zirconium crowns I have straight nicely aligned teeth and greatly improved look, my bite became stronger. The zirconium crowns and bridge feels very natural and I got used to them quickly. Many of the corrected teeth were front teeth, so the change is really pleasing.

I am very happy about the results and it feels wonderful to have a beautiful smile.

Dr. Skoura is highly experienced professional, who enjoys working on challenging cases. Being confident with her skills and knowledge, she takes decisions bravely yet deliberately. We had great communication and I enjoyed her vibrant and strong personality. Doctors working with her were very skillful, gentle and thorough with work as well. They were very flexible to adjust to my time schedule for appointments and my wish to undergo the treatment quickly.

Many thanks to Dr. Skoura and her team.

Treatment Received: Dentist Consultation
I have been a patient at skourasdent now for around 5 years. Previously I have had bad experiences with dentists, and I became very attend 2/3 times a year. It is not cheap - but you do get what you pay for. Dr Skoura is very professional and friendly and his recommended treatments have always been worthwhile. And I simply can't praise Fitsum enough. She has always been mindful of my anxiousness and is gentle and considerate. I've followed her advice and now when I attend I don't even feel the probe anymore as my gums are in good condition.
Found this practice through this web site. Friendly on the phone, so I gave them a try. Dr skoura and his staff were fabulus, they really looked after me . Spent loads of time doing a really thorough exam and then explaining everything really well. Followed up on their recommendations and it was measured and fitted in 1 visit only! Would definitely recommend these dentists in Richmond. I can certainly see that I got top class dentistry. "

Bone Graft  (3 sessions)

A bone graft can be taken from the patient's own healthy bone (this is called an autograft) or from frozen, donated bone (allograft). In some cases, a man-made (synthetic) bone substitute is used.

A surgeon makes a cut over the bone defect. The bone graft is shaped and inserted into and around the area. Stitches are used to close the wound. A splint or cast is usually used to prevent injury or movement while healing.

Braces (10 sessions)

Orthodontic treatment is a way of straightening or moving teeth, to improve the appearance and their function. Orthodontic treatment can be done by many sorts of appliances known as 'braces' (removable, functional, fixed). After having a full examination including looking at your teeth, taking x-rays and making plastic models of your teeth, the dentist will choose for you the appropriate sort of treatment.

Adult Braces (10 sessions)

invisalign technology

Invisalign is an alternative to wire braces that uses transparent aligners to adjust teeth. Invisalign treatment  involves

taking a mold of the patient's teeth that is scanned and then the computer model creates stages between the current and desired teeth positions that are used to create molds for individual aligners.

Once the orthodontist believes that the candidate is ready for this procedure he takes x-rays, a bite registration and polyvinyl silocane impressions of the patient’s teeth and gums.

Clear Braces (10 sessions)

takes a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom-made series of aligners created for you and only you. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth.

Wearing the aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place, based on the exact movements your dentist or orthodontist plans out for you. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You just pop in a new set of aligners approximately every two weeks, until your treatment is complete. You’ll achieve a great smile with little interference in your daily life. The best part about the whole process is that most people won't even know you're straightening your teeth.

it is very important that you fully understand what changes the dentist will make and what the result will look like.

    Dental Bridges (3 sessions)

If you’re missing one or more teeth, you may notice a difference in chewing and speaking. Bridges can help restore your smile.

Sometimes called a fixed partial denture, a bridge replaces missing teeth with artificial teeth and literally “bridges” the gap where one or more teeth used to be. Bridges can be made from gold, alloys, porcelain or a combination of these materials and are attached to surrounding teeth for support. Unlike a removable bridge, which you can take out and clean, a fixed bridge can only be removed by a dentist.

Porcelain Fixed Bridges are the most popular because they closely replicate the look and feel of natural teeth. This type of bridge consists of a pontic (artificial tooth) that is fused between dental crowns applied to the teeth on either side of the gap (abutment teeth).

First, the teeth are numbed and a portion of enamel is removed from the two anchoring teeth to accommodate crowns. Next, a highly accurate impression (mold) is taken and sent to a dental laboratory.

During your second visit, your new custom bridge will be carefully inspected, adjusted, and precisely and permanently cemented into place.

    from €150
    Temporary Bridge

A temporary bridge is made as an interim solution so as to protect the prepared supporting teeth of the bridge until the final restoration is inserted.

When you lose all of your teeth, facial muscles can sag, making you look older. Dentures can help fill out the appearance of your face and profile. Flexible partial dentures ,

are custom-fabricated in a dental laboratory. They are prescription-only products that are placed by a licensed dentist after an impression of your mouth has been taken. Most flexible partial dentures involve very simple preparation because your natural teeth don't need to be altered in any way. Removable Partial Dentures (6 sessions)

Removable partial dentures usually consist of replacement teeth attached to pink or gum-colored plastic bases. Depending on your needs, your dentist will design a partial denture for you. A partial denture may have a metal framework and clasps that connect to your teeth, or they can have other connectors that are more natural looking. In some cases, a removable partial denture is made to attach to your natural teeth with devices called precision attachments. Precision attachments are generally more esthetic than clasps.

Crowns on your natural teeth are sometimes needed to improve the fit of a removable partial denture and they are usually required with attachments. Partial dentures with precision attachments generally cost more than those with clasps.
