"Certainly made me feel welcomed in a very caring and professional manner"
4.5 50Reviewed 01 Aug 2018 Verified user. Review confirmed by phone.
Treatment Received: Dentist Consultation
I did not have any treatment, not because I didn’t want to. But because the treatment that I require could not have commenced in my short timeline of 3 days.

I come from Australia, which is not close, I need to plan my visit and my Schengen visa limitations. However, I am more than happy to report that I received very caring and considerate service from all SoDC staff.

The receptionist was my first contact point - she certainly made me feel welcomed in a very caring and professional manner. I will now plan my return to Europe next year to coincide better with my dental care needs.

I chose this clinic because of the reviews that I read. I had researched many dental clinics before choosing SoDC. The main reference point I was looking for was recent reviews. Many clinics that I researched had reviews that were a year or older. It is important, I believe to ensure that comparison of the many dental clinics needs to have a ‘current’ and up to date reference point. That’s why I chose SoDC.

"It’s definitely a great place and will always be my first choice"

Treatment Received: Dental Implants,Porcelain Bridge
I chose Save on Dental because of the good reviews I’d found on the WhatClinic site, Facebook page, as well as other social media platforms. They initially gave me a quote for dental implants, but when I arrived I found out that it wasn’t going to be enough.

The dental implants required a bone graft and a few other procedures as well. We did the porcelain bridge installation, which was 500 pounds more expensive, but then I also had to change my flight and extend the travel hotel stay because the procedure would be taking longer. These were unforeseen expenses.

The clinic was modern, clean and extremely hi-tech. It’s definitely a great place and will always be my first choice. My only recommendation to future patients is to book a longer stay at the hotel just in case because it’s likely the procedure could take longer than expected.

"I was very impressed by the knowledge and excellent communication skills of the staff"
4 50Reviewed 22 Apr 2018 Verified user. Review confirmed by phone and email.
Treatment Received: Dental Crowns
Save on Dental Care was the perfect clinic for my dental crowns because of the brilliant package they offered me. The clinic is so well organised and they gave me a good deal for the crowns. The price I saw online wasn’t what I paid, but the dentist did explain why there were discrepancies. I knew the reason I was paying more. I’ll go back in June to have some implants done.

I was very impressed by the knowledge and excellent communication skills of the staff. They gave me such comprehensive information regarding the treatment, and the explanations were easy to understand.

"The dental practice was excellent, clean, and managed by professional staff"
5 50Reviewed 17 Mar 2018 Verified user. Review confirmed by phone.
Treatment Received: Veneers
By the looks of their website, this clinic seemed like a good choice for veneers. The cost was reasonable as well, so I had the procedure done with them. It was definitely worth the price, I paid almost half of what I would’ve in the UK. There were no hidden costs at all and the staff went the extra mile to accommodate me.

The dental practice was excellent, clean, and managed by professional staff. I had a great experience here. There was some point when I had an issue on a Friday night and they sent someone out to me within half an hour even though they’d already closed for business. Service like this is very hard to come by. My healing process was bearable: they’d warned me that sensitivity could last up to 2 weeks, but other than this, recovery was smooth. I’d highly recommend them to anyone.

"A very professional proper clinic with state of the art equipment"
4.5 50Reviewed 26 Nov 2017 Verified user. Review confirmed by email.
Treatment Received: Fillings,Dental Implants,Extractions
I had a filling collapse and a few missing teeth all at the back of my mouth. The front is ok. I just wanted the gaps filled in, not a Donny Osmond smile. But if that's what you want I am sure that's what you will get. The treatment can take 3 / 4 visits with the cost of flights etc so do your homework! State of the art equipment, painless procedure. Vist 1 assessment and plan+ cost, Visit 2 implants begin (probably 2 more visits). My first visit I had scale/polish + extraction for £90, in the UK this would be £130, you pay as you have the work done so no huge bill. Implants locally in the UK are from £2k so shop around, do your homework. Must say, 1st class, all the way.

My experience was fine, treatment painless. Great aftercare and information, the dentist talks you through the whole thing. A very professional proper clinic with state of the art equipment, not a Victorian three-story house converted into a clinic, but a proper dentist facility.

"I would gladly recommend"
4 50Reviewed 20 Jun 2017 Verified user. Review confirmed by phone and email.
Treatment Received: Dentist Consultation
I had a diagnosis prior my procedure in Budapest for a dental implant but when I got there they had to change the crown meaning I did a totally different operation than the initial but It went well and I am happy about everything.

When I got there the doctor did a little examination and apparently I had to change the whole thing, I extended the booking in my hotel for five days instead of three, which cost extra! but the clinic charged me less, as I had crowns fitted, instead of an implant. I can say the place is very and welcoming, the doctor a polite professional Lady Dr. Andrea Mersich and her staff were very helpful & catered for my needs.
I would gladly recommend the clinic to anyone.

"This review wont allow 6 stars so limited to 5"
5 50Reviewed 18 Sep 2016 Review verified by phone.
Treatment Received: Dental Crowns,Fillings,Dental Implants,CT Scan - Computed Tomography
I need almost a total rebuild of my dental state; gaps a result of several missing teeth, broken roots (from poor root canal work by UK dentists), declining health.

Started a 20+ tooth reconstruction work, by firstly upper jaw implants to moler teeth.
It involved x-rays and CT- scan appraisal pictures, in depth discussion and planning.
I have been in 10+ other dentists chairs in the past and never felt that my health and smile were important to them. The uk is corrupt because each visit counts as a new treatment. They will not do bridge work under the NHS, which has a tariff maximum of £265.
In the case of SODC Budapest, I was reassured from the first consultation what was planned was really needed.
I went ahead and am currently recovering from the 2 main implants that will form the basis of crowns and bridges to that side.
The procedure was performed by Dr Peter and his team. A really confident dentist, who explained what would be happening and what to expect afterwards in recovery time. His work was later seen on a controlling x-ray picture and true to his word were perfectly positioned and aligned; I have heard of UK dentists who are not experienced enough to do this and end up with crooked teeth.
Thats the whole cue of this message; what these dentists and their teams do is what they are doing daily. Expertise and experience really counts.
In the UK was quoted more than £50,000 for a complete rebuild, but as a favor was told he could do it for £28,000 if I agreed up front to the whole job. I politely declined and said he would have to get the money for his new Porsche from someone else. His Porsche was proudly parked outside.
Here in SODC I was assured that only the teeth that needed to be pulled or implants made would be touched and essential work carried out.
This is important because firstly the UK dentist would be contracting in a team for the procedure, and any idea of mine to save usable teeth was dismissed. A second UK dentist said he can provide bridges but not implants, and these would be at £480 per tooth - meaning for a 2 tooth gap they would charge 4 x £480 for a single bridge.
Another dentist in Belgium quoted €12,000 for each 'over denture' - total €24,000.
Now our health shouldnt really have a price tag on it but thats the rub, by being so expensive locally, dentists here put themselves beyond the possibility of doing this kind of reconstructive work regularly. That means the risk of 'mishaps' is greater.
In the case of SODC, theyre doing it every day. They are equipped with state of the art x-ray machines (In the uK I was told an x-ray wasnt needed or possible onsite)
My future dental work will be performed by Dr Monika in about 6 months after healing is complete of the implants.
I was given anti-biotics as a safeguard against infection, pain killers for the day after.
I was given a book of dental treatment details, even the makes and types of implants used.
Total cost estimate = less that £6000 (+ flights and hotels); prices are post Brexit exchange rates.
I researched this a lot over many years.and have many dentists to come up with a workable plan.
I stayed on the Buda side of Budapest, so transport was a little more than staying on the Pest side, but at anytime the taxi ride was never more than £8 - it can be done by metro - £3 per day unlimited travel (free if you are 65+).
This review wont allow 6 stars so limited to 5. Dr Peter, Dr Monika and teams deserve justly praise!

"Wonderful, superbly well organised and helpful staff."

Treatment Received: Fillings
First class, modern, and hygienic. Explained my options clearly and honestly, and didn't try to 'sell' treatment that was not best for me. I will be returning to complete the treatment recommended, and would have no hesitation in recommending this clinic. Wonderful, superbly well organised and helpful staff. Their shuttle service makes the trip much easier and helps reduce the anxieties inherent in having dental treatment. I ended up only replacing two fillings on this trip, at my request, so it was not really profitable for the clinic this time, but I will return. In addition, the accommodation they organised was excellent, and my first visit to the beautiful city of Budapest made it all worthwhile.

Dentures
Guaranteed for 3 years.Removable partial dentures generally replaces multiple or single teeth where there are still healthy teeth present. A partial denture also serves as a spacer to prevent the living teeth from shifting position. The one pictured above replaces 4 missing teeth, leaving spaces for 7 natural teeth. Two of the natural teeth are clasped with wrought wire clasps which are cured into the structure of the denture base. The pink material of the denture base is hard plastic and the same material used to make complete dentures. The main single advantage to this type of RPD is the cost. Also the new teeth and new denture base can easily be added to an existing treatment RPD. These are frequently fabricated even if the remaining teeth have existing decay or periodontal disease and their prognosis is doubtful. If later in the course of treatment some of the existing natural teeth are extracted for any reason, new false teeth can be added quickly to the partial, maintaining the patients appearance. Another common and infact more important use of these appliances is as an "immediate partial denture". This means that the appliance can be made before the teeth are removed, and inserted immediately after the extraction of the planned teeth so that the patient is never without teeth. This is of special help when anterior teeth are to be extracted and patient wants to return back to his/her normal routine immediately.
