Rating from 6 Reviews I was handled very well during my Dentist Consultation considering I'm a nervous patientSean, Gorey, Wexford, 09 Sep 16

My treatment has only just started, however I have nothing but good things to say, great staff, nice facilities and seemingly very genuine in the advice they give. Excellent, met with me at incredibly short notice and are working to complete my treatment within a demanding timeline. Tom Monroe was very accommodating and handled a very nervous patient such as me with care.

I find the receptionist very nice and very helpful. Dr. Duggan was very clear on what to expect during and after the treatment and I am really happy with the result.

I would be happy to returnpatrick, Ireland, 01 Jun 12

I was very pleased with the treatment I received from Dr Bryan Duggan. I liked his manner. He explained in a clear and concise manner the problems I had. He was friendly without being overbearing. He was upfront about what the cost of the treatment would be. My problem was sorted with the minimal of discomfort. The place was modern and the staff nice. I would be happy to return even if I'm not wild about receiving dental treatment.

Rating from 3 Reviews Auckland to Dublin!Brendan, New Zealand, 24 Oct 13

Denture reline I've been going to Paddy Crotty for many years now and have always held him in the highest esteem. When I returned to Ireland for a visit, the first thing I did was make an appointment. Auckland to Dublin to see the dentist must be some sort of a record, but well worth it.

Repair, x-rays, cleaning, polishBarry, Ireland, 08 May 13

Patrick Crotty is an excellent dentist; he is personable, interested and takes the time to explain what he is doing. He is committed to his profession and always looking at new ways to do things. Takes real pride in his work. Easily accessed via public transport or, if driving, plenty metered car parking nearby.

Rating from 4 Reviews I was very pleased with how efficient the dentist wasSue, South Africa, 15 Sep 17

My Braces appointment at the Docklands Dental did not go as expected as I was referred to someone else but I was very pleased with how efficient the dentist was. The clinic gave me a good referral for my appointment rather attempting to do something untested so I appreciate that.

Rating from 14 Reviews A relaxed and educated experienceGWE, Ireland, 07 Dec 15

A patient in the dental chair can be traumatic, what a relaxed and educated experience and will recommended. I have scheduled a follow up appointment without hesitation! The fees are explained, because I'm private and the friendliness of the staff needs to be mentioned!. I will return and happy to do do so, because the treatment plan is detailed and affordable! Was happy to part with payment and informed of scheduling and treatment to keep the costs down, and was given dates to suite my work arrangements.

Glad to entrust them with the health of my smile.Robert, Ireland, 13 Feb 15

The staff were courteous, helpful, understanding, compassionate, & respectful. Dr. McGovern, despite having a loaded schedule made room for me to be seen, and discovered a filling from when I was I child had cracked & broken exposing my nerve. Upon diagnosis requiring a root canal, I was treated & provided a temporary after drilling out the root and given a prescription for antibiotics to clear up the infection I had developed in my nerve, having waited too long before seeking Dr. McGovern's & Dr. Haughey's fine care. Glad to entrust them with the health of my smile. Why would anyone go anywhere else?.

TMJ - Temporomandibular Joint Treatment
The temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is the area directly in front of the ear on either side of the head where the upper jaw (maxilla) and lower jaw (mandible) meet. Within the TMJ, there are moving parts that allow the upper jaw to close on the lower jaw. This joint is a typical sliding "ball and socket" that has a disc sandwiched between it. The TMJ is used throughout the day to move the jaw, especially in biting and chewing, talking, and yawning. TMJ disorders are a group of complex problems of the jaw joint. Because muscles and joints work together, a problem with either one can lead to stiffness, headaches, ear pain, bite problems, clicking sounds, or locked jaws. Teeth grinding and teeth clenching increase the wear on the cartilage lining of the TMJ. Those who grind or clench their teeth may be unaware of this behavior unless they are told by someone observing this while sleeping or by a dental professional noticing signs of wear and tear on the teeth. Many patients waken in the morning with jaw or ear pain.Gum chewing or fingernail bitingDental problems and misalignment of the teeth (malocclusion). Patients may complain that it is difficult to find a comfortable bite or that the way their teeth fit together has changed.Chewing on only one side of the jaw can lead to or be a result of TMJ problems.Stress frequently leads to unreleased nervous energy. It is very common for people under stress to release this nervous energy by either consciously or unconsciously grinding and clenching their teeth.Occupational tasks such as holding the telephone between the head and shoulder may contribute to TMJ disorders.
