Celia qualified from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1980. She then worked in hospitals in Cardiff, Wrexham and Bodelwyddan before returning to the community dental service in Gwent for several years. Throughout this time Celia worked in orthodontics, gaining postgraduate qualifications in 2000. Celia spend 10 year as a part time lecturer in a dental hospital together with a specialist practice in Bridgend.
