Dr Tim Rutherford

Biography:
Completed his undergraduate medical training with Honours at Monash University in 2001 and undertook his hospital residency at St Vincent’s Hospital. During his subsequent specialist dermatology training both in Melbourne and Singapore, Dr. Rutherford developed a strong interest in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer. For this reason he embarked upon a fellowship year in advanced cutaneous surgery, Mohs and laser surgery endorsed by the Australasian College of Dermatology in Perth, WA. After his 12 month fellowship Dr. Rutherford went on to work at the Dermatology Surgery and Laser Centre and then Oxford Dermatology and Day Surgery in Perth before returning to Melbourne to settle permanently. Dr. Rutherford gained extensive experience during his dermatology training, fellowship and private practice in surgery of the skin for both skin cancers and non cancerous “cosmetic” lesions as well as treatment of other forms of sun damage. A fellow of the Australasian College of dermatologists, Dr. Rutherford is a member of the American College of Mohs Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology, Australian Medical Association and is active within the Australasian College of Dermatologists. Whilst predominately working in private practice, Dr. Rutherford teaches dermatology trainees and medical students and participates in the Medical Specialist Outreach Assistance Program to help service rural and remote Victoria. Dr. Rutherford has spoken at Australian and International Dermatology conferences.

Dr Adam Sheridan

Biography:
Current Fellow and Member of the Australasian College of Dermatologists, American College of Mohs Surgery and Australasian Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery. Dr. Sheridan graduated from The University of Adelaide Medical school in 1996 and went on to train as a specialist Dermatologist in Australia and the United Kingdom, and has subsequently served as Visiting Consultant and Dermatologic Surgeon at The Skin and Cancer Foundation, VIC; Monash Medical Centre, VIC; Flinders Medical Centre, SA. and the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals, Oxford, UK. He was awarded Clinical Research Fellowships in Dermatology (1998) and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (1999) at the Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals, Oxford, UK. Dr. Sheridan has served as an Honorary State Secretary for the Australasian College of Dermatologists; and on the Australasian College of Dermatologists Committees for Continued Professional Development and Mohs Micrographic Surgery. He is actively involved in the Australasian College of Dermatologists specialist training and certification programme, and is a published author and guest reviewer for the Australasian Journal of Dermatology. Dr. Sheridan's areas of special expertise are the surgical and non-surgical management of skin cancers; Mohs Micrographic Surgery; acne, rosacea; abnormal pigmentation and scarring, Asian skin; laser and light therapies; and cosmetic dermatology.

Dr Edward Upjohn

Biography:
Fellow of the Australasian College of Dermatologists and trained at The Royal Children’s and Royal Melbourne Hospitals, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and also at the prestigious St. John’s Institute of Dermatology in London. After finishing his training in dermatology he then traveled to Dallas, Texas where he completed a year long fellowship in dermatologic reconstructive and Mohs surgery at the University of Texas – Southwestern Medical Center. This fellowship program has dual accreditation from both the American College of Mohs Surgeons and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education – the preeminent bodies for accrediting Mohs surgery and medical training programs within the United States respectively. Dr. Upjohn is an expert in managing skin cancer and brings the latest ideas and techniques to this challenging problem. He has published numerous articles on dermatology and dermatologic surgery in peer reviewed journals and has also authored a number of book chapters. He is a regular speaker at conferences both in Australia and overseas. In addition to his private practice he has appointments at The Skin and Cancer Foundation of Victoria and The Royal Melbourne Hospital.
