What are Skin Tags and how are they removed?

Skin tags are unsightly but harmless skin growths. They grow on a stem and are usually found on the eyelids and face, neck, armpits or under breasts. They are also called polyps or soft fibroma. Surgical and nonsurgical procedures are used to remove skin tags by cutting, tying, burning, using electrosurgery, or freezing, using liquid nitrogen called cryosurgery.

Is Skin Tag Removal painful?

A local anaesthetic or numbing cream is applied to the skin tag area before it is removed. Patients will not feel pain when skin tags are removed.

Can I travel by air after Skin Tag Removal?

Patients should wait at least a day after skin tag removal before flying so that the local anaesthetic has completely worn off.

When will I recover after Skin Tag Removal?

It takes four to five days before patients fully recover after a skin tag is removed. Recovery time depends on the number of skin tags, the size of the skin tag and the area of the body where they are located.

What care is required after Skin Tag Removal?

Patients should take all prescribed medications and apply topical medications correctly. They should sleep with their head elevated for two days. They should avoid strenuous exercise and lifting heavy objects for at least a week. They should avoid exposing the treated area to direct sunlight for at least nine months. They should avoid touching or scratching the treated area to ensure that the healing is quick.

The whole procedure was fast and easyPatrick, Ireland, 08 09 23

Went for facial mole removal with very good overall experience.Contacting the clinic was easy and they reply fairly fast, they also give you all the information you need for the operation.Coming into the clinic, both the doctor and receptionist were approachable and accomodating. Very experienced doctor, you could tell from how he explains things so there is no need to worry. The whole procedure was fast and easy. The wound was nearly fully healed within a week and got the stitches removed on the 7th day after the procedure. There may be scar, but it was explained before the operation. In my case, the scar was very small and hardly noticable at all, unless you really look for it. Highly recommended.

I felt comfortable with the doctor from the minute I met herGale, Ireland, 08 02 23

Sincere apologies for the delay in sending you this review but life and a bad memory got in the way. I found Likha Aesthetics ie Juliah simply by scrolling through the internet. I am in my early 60s and had not looked after my skin really ever. That's not to say that I had not spent thousands throughout the years on products I started and never finished!!!! I also had some skin tags on my eye lids and removal of these was by main concern when looking through the internet. I read Juliahs blog and her reviews and liked what I read. I noticed that her aesthetic business ie Likha had won many awards. I started following her on Instagram and got more and more interested in what she could do. Finally, months later I called and made an appointment ....and in short I could not be happier with my experience that day. I found Juliah to be a power of knowledge and professionalism and at the same time warm and honest. I felt comfortable with her from the minute I met her. She gently removed my skin tags telling me what she was doing to put me at ease along the way. The fact that she is also a qualifed doctor gave me total confidence in her hands I also asked about my skin, more or less asked where would I start to try to help it. !! Juliah recommended the Zo products to start with. I liked that she was interested in improving my natural look with non surgical products .. ...albeit I'm sure had I been interested in more invasive treatment she would have been able to do that too. Juliah gave me her full attention and advice for 2 hours! never once looking at the clock. She was full of enthusiasm and confidence regarding the Zo products and I just there and then decided to invest in what she was recommending and left her salon skin tag free and with a box of 5 Zo products !! Was it value for money and have I used the products? Absolutely !!! A whopping yes. It's almost three weeks later and I have used the Zo products rigidly, in the sequence Juliah advised and I cannot believe the difference in my skin. I wish I had found Juliah years ago. My friends have been commenting on my skin / face asking me what have I done to it and I tell them that I met a lady called Juliah who gave me the encouragement to look after my skin and who recommended a wonderful brand of products to me that actually work! The proof is in my face! I'm delighted and it's only been 2/ 3 weeks. The morning and nightly regime only takes a few minutes of my time and was well worth the money. Thank you Juliah. Ps I never heard of the Likha clinic until I came across it on the internet nor did I ever meet with Juliah until I stepped into her salon in Stepaside Dublin on 24th January. I highly recommend the Likha clinic/ Juliah.

Skin Tag Removal €100 - €350
Skin tags are common, acquired, benign skin growths that look like a small piece of soft, hanging skin. Skin tags are harmless growths. Some individuals may be more prone to tags (greater than 50-100 tags) either through increased weight, in part combined with heredity, or other unknown causes. Males and females are equally prone to developing skin tags. Obesity and being moderately overweight (even temporary increases in weight) dramatically increase the chances of having skin tags. Women of normal weight with larger breasts are also more prone to developing skin tags under their breasts. Some small tags spontaneously rub or fall off painlessly and the person may not even know they had a skin tag. Most tags do not fall off on their own and persist once formed. The medical name for skin tag is acrochordon.
