Dr Amer Awan

Dr Amer Awan is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Retinal Surgeon based at Shifa International Hospital, Rawalpindi & Islamabad, Pakistan. He has also been appointed as Assistant Professor in Ophthalmology in Shifa College of Medicine. Following his higher surgical training in Ophthalmology in UK, he has completed a fellowship in Vitreo-retinal surgery at the Tennent Institute of Ophthalmology, Glasgow, UK. He is the only fellowship trained retinal surgeon with a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) from the General Medical Council of the UK, practicing in Islamabad. The CCT is awarded when a doctor is assessed to have a very high standard of training in the UK and is allowed to practise without supervision.
