We are both 40 and I have secondary infertility from two ectopic pregnancies, as well as being diagnosed with PCOS and endometriosis. The first full cycle (Nov 14)was a disaster, second cycle (Jan 15) we got a positive result only to lose it at eight weeks, but we had success after the next transfer (Jun 15) and are now 16 weeks pregnant. I found the last transfer (which was successful) the hardest as I was on the maximum dosage for everything, but when you know it’s been successful you put up with a lot. We used the embryo glue in the second and third procedure.
My GP recommended Pivet and Fertility North, Fertility North had a five month waiting list and Pivet’s was only five weeks. Dr Borude was very nice and sent us to get numerous blood tests, pelvic scans and sperm analysis. The practice is very busy and you need to allow for this, especially if you’re going to work after doctor appointments, etc. I found most staff friendly and they were used to dealing with worried hormonal patients like me. It’s very expensive, but they do use cutting edge technology and to quote a staff member they ‘don’t give up on women’.
