Everything at Next Generation Clinic in St Petersburg was incredibly organised, clean and the hygiene procedures for the transfer room were stricter than any I had seen in my home country. Drs Diana Lobzeva and Valentina Denisova were wonderful and explained everything I needed to know, and answered all of my many questions. That gave me a great deal of comfort as I was very anxious, having suffered pregnancy losses in the past and having been through 11 unsuccessful IVF attempts in Australia with my own eggs. Nurse Ksenia was a joy too and Aleksandr was fantastic. Their command of English is perfect. I went to NGC because it was very important to me to be able to choose the donor myself. I wanted to see photographs. I did not want to entrust the selection to someone else, as happens in many EU countries. The clinic staff will help with selection - but only if that is what you want as a patient. It was also absolutely imperative for me that the egg and sperm donors were non-anonymous and that was possible with NGC and in many other places it is not. Communication was clear and always very prompt, and every staff member was a delight to deal with, even the security guard who took my temperature (COVID protocols...) as I entered the building! I was very happy with the clinic. On top of all that, St Petersburg is absolutely beautiful and a wonderful place to visit. Most important of all, I am now more than halfway through pregnancy with a baby who is kicking me day and night. It is a wonderful feeling, especially because I was so tired of the disappointment of failed cycles and had reached a point where I was ready to give up on my dream of being a mum. This was my last hope. Now, in a few months, I will hold my little boy.
