Dr Titus Thomas pursued a fellowship in endoscopy at the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham in advanced endoscopic techniques and Endoscopic Ultrasound after completing his duel specialist training in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine from Leicester in 2007. Further on he continued his fellowship in advanced therapeutic endoscopy and GI oncology in St' Micheal's Hospital, one of the 15 OMED recognised international institutes for training in advanced endoscopic techniques and imaging, in Toronto. In Oct' 2009 he was appointed as a Consultant Gastroenterologist in Northampton General Hospital. In July 2013 he established the Endoscopic Ultrasound service in Northampton General Hospital to provide a regional service for investigation of patients with oesophageal cancer and pancreatobiliary disease thereby improving the patients journey at their most difficult times. He is also one of the two consultants providing the local Endomucosal resection service (an alternative to surgery for removal of > 2cm large flat / difficult polyps from the colon) and therapeutic ERCP for relieving bile duct obstruction. He has a keen research interest and has presented and published over 10 peer reviewed papers in various Gastroenterology journals. In addition he is also teaches Oxford medical students and trains Gastronenterology specialist trainees in the East Midlands rotation.
