Rhythmic techniques and intuition are great tools of the Lomi Lomi practitioner.Kahuna Massage is traditionally 1.5hours long and covers all systems of the body: circulatory / respiratory / lymphatic / digestive / nervous for example. The body is detoxified as the sweeping, long arm movements transfer the lymph around the body helping to clear out congestion and toxification. These strokes, performed fluidly and rhythmically with both the hands and forearms, work gently and deeply into the muscles releasing tension, as well as on the blood and lymphatic systems making it a powerful, detoxifying massage. They are also designed to help the body let go of old memories, beliefs and behavioural patterns which, in Hawaiian culture, are believed to be stored in every cell of our bodies. These ideas and thoughts can prevent us from living our lives to their true potential and are capable of causing just as much stress and strain on the body as muscle tension.
