I felt very comfortable and in control at all timesKathy, UK, 23 04 23

Visited Kaunas Wellness Clinic in Lithuania on 18/04/23 for Breast reduction and blepharoplasty of upper eyelids. Was collected from apartment at 9.30 am on 19th. Had blood tests, ecg at clinic and had as taken for consultation with the Dr I had chosen for my surgery. He listened, advised, talked to me about the operations. Took pictures and marked the area being operated on. I felt very comfortable and in control at all times. The clinic was immaculate and from being collected from the Airport, having bloods, ecg, consultation, to meeting an anaesthetist everything was fully explained and everyone was professional and informative and made sure I was comfortable and calm. The rooms were very clean and had remote controlled beds, T.V and air conditioning. The en-suite was clean and had the basics for showering, tooth brushing and toileting. A call bell was given to me for anything I needed. I was given a gown, slippers and a robe and taken to the theatre ( a short walk) I was reassured and spoken to by the anaesthetist on arrival and a cannula was popped in my arm. I only remember waking up back at in my room, being offered a sip of water and having my blood pressure done every 30 minutes/ or hour automatically. I was given an injection to my stomach to avoid thrombosis and was kept comfortable with meds. At no time was I in any Pain. I was offered more pain killers food and drink every time the nurse came in. I was made comfortable and checked on regularly. I felt ok to use the bathroom and used my phone and watched tv between dozing in and out of sleep. I had a cup of tea as often as I asked and was continually offered food. I slept well thanks to a small sleeping tablet. I was given a lovely breakfast and saw the dr at 9am ish who checked me over and discharged me. At 9.30 am I was taken back to my apartment, with discharge medication, full instructions and dressing change items. The following Day (Thursday) I went for a walk around the Acropolis centre. I had a shower of my body and washed my hair on my return and slept well with the medication provided managing any discomfort. I used their version of Uber (BOT) for taxi and food delivery and it was very reasonable, easy to download and came really quickly. I was more than ready for my flight home Saturday early hours. I was collected at 4.15 am and taken to the airport. Arriving home in Cardiff at 8 am. It’s Sunday and my eyes have caused me no discomfort what so ever. I changed my dressings on my breasts and had a lush shower and washed my hair. I had a little bit of bleeding so used the spray I was given and gauze and reapplied my garment. All is well and I have the discomfort under control. I cannot recommend Dr Karolis Cernauskis enough he is experienced and has written many papers on his expertise in his field. I hope to return to the clinic in 6 months for a thigh lift and lipo in the meantime I will be dieting and recovering to ensure a good result. I had previously had surgery in London and Cardiff, this was obviously closer to home and nearly double the price it was in Lithuania. I also had several bad experiences with my treatment in Cardiff, I found their technique to be antiquated and the group not as thorough or experienced. I am happy to share and answer any questions you may have as a thank you to Wellness Clinic Lithuania for their care. I am not on social media so DM me for any queries.

There is a nurse on duty 24/7 and Dr on callSusan, UK, 24 10 22

I returned to Nord for a second knee replacement at beginning of October, having had the first one in early 2019. There was no contest in choice as Nord truly offers a five star experience from enquiry to return home and I wanted the same experience again! My contact was Justina, who has been outstanding and organised everything for me and answered all questions very quickly. My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Kaunas pre op which was excellent, very central and convenient to shops and cafes etc. I was transported to the clinic day after arrival for blood tests, x rays and to pay and then the following morning I was again collected and taken to my room in the clinic. The anesthetist came to see me, I had a canula and a preop injection and then I walked across the corridor straight into the theatre. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly and I just remember an ice cold spray on my back then next thing I was waking up! I was wheeled back to room to await feeling in feet. The two days in clinic you are well looked after, pain is controlled and you are up on your feet almost straightaway. Professor Taraservicius, surgeon, came to see me, as he did last time, and then we were transported to UPA Medical Spa. Hubby met me at clinic to be transported with me. UPA is amazing. On arrival you see the Dr and are given a programme of tailor made treatments to promote your recovery. Polar light therapy, cryotherapy, physio, full back massage. There is a nurse on duty 24/7 and Dr on call. All meals are included, there is a fridge and kettle in your room, adjustable hospital beds etc. UPA offers a full range of relaxing treatments (pay extra) at very reasonable rates and I can recommend the 60min brightening facial! I did find this second op more painful to recover from than the first. This is likely to be due to the fact nerves and tendons are not cut now. Recovery is predicted to be faster, but be prepared for discomfort. Ask for pain relief, sleeping tablets ice packs etc. UPA will remove the staples at day 12 if your wound is ready or you can buy a staple remover to take back home. I am now home at day 19 and my wound has almost healed already! The pain in the knee eases with doing the physio exercises and your best friend is ice! I bought ice packs from Amazon for return home. I am still using 2 crutches, and I am still feeling tired but I am so grateful to have been able to return to this centre of excellence and have no hesitation in recommending Nordorthopaedics clinic to anyone!

Knee Replacement from 3767 €
Knee replacement surgery, also known as arthroplasty, is generally regarded as an effective treatment for end-stage knee arthritis. It results in an improved knee function and significantly relieves severe pain caused by degenerative joint diseases. All knee replacement procedures are generally divided into 2 major groups, depending on whether the knee is replaced totally or partially. When trying to better understand the mechanism behind total knee arthroplasty, knowing the anatomic complexity of a knee comes in handy. A knee joint is often compared to a hinge which allows to flex, extend and limitedly rotate the lower leg. Structurally it resembles three separate joints: slightly rounded end of the thigh bone forms 2 separate articulations with a slightly hollow end of the shinbone which has a mobile kneecap on top. The most common indication for total knee replacement is severe osteoarthritis that affects all surfaces of these synergic joints and causes pain which is unresponsive to medical management.
