Physiotherapist Biography:
Mary is a graduate of UCD School Of Physiotherapy. She has worked in many of the major Dublin hospitals, gaining expertise in areas such as Neurology, Orthopaedics, Rheumatology, Respiratory care and Burns and Plastics. Mary has extensive experience in the management of adult and paediatric rheumatological conditions, which she has developed while working in her senior post at the Rheumatological Rehab Unit in Harolds Cross, Dublin. She has been involved there in directing undergraduating students and junior staff in this field. She has also contributed to the development of CPD programmes in this area for members of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapy. Mary completed her specialised musculoskeletal training through the Masters of Manual Therapy programme at the University of Western Australia, in Perth. This specialisation has led to a keen interest in the evidence based management of spinal dysfunction, ie neck and back pain. Mary combines her training as a Pilates instructor, with the skills developed during her masters, to provide patients with management programmes which include hands-on treatment and specific instruction in therapeutic exercise.
