The lady that attended me at the Archview Physiotherapy Pain and Sports Injury Clinic for my Dry Needling appointment was incredible. I was fitted on for the appointment without having to wait for several days and the procedure was done promptly and with excellent service. The clinic was very helpful when it came to giving me treatment at an affordable price and with excellent service so I have no problem giving them the best rate.

Back Pain
Dry Needling involves multiple advances of a filament needle into the muscle in the region of a “Trigger Point’. The aim of Dry Needling is to achieve a local twitch response to release muscle tension and pain. Dry needling is an effective treatment for chronic pain of neuropathic origin with very few side effects. This technique is unequaled in finding and eliminating neuromuscular dysfunction that leads to pain and functional deficits. The needle used is very thin and most subjects do not even feel it penetrate the skin. A healthy muscle feels very little discomfort with insertion of this needle. However if the muscle is sensitive and shortened or has active trigger points within it, the subject will feel a sensation like a muscle cramp -‘the twitch response’. The patient also may feel a reproduction of “their” pain which is a helpful diagnostic indicator for the practitioner attempting to diagnose the cause of the patients symptoms. Patients soon learn to recognize and even welcome this sensation as it results in deactivating the trigger point, reducing pain and restoring normal length function to the involved muscle.

Dublin Spine Sports Physiotherapy

Rating from 2 Reviews Couldn't recommend higher!Jonathan, Ireland, 12 Dec 16

I had an initial assessment which Gary gave me a clear diagnosis of my injuries and what was causing it. We then made a plan based on my goals (running and tennis) and a timeline to full recovery. Gary did some treatment which consisted of hands on work showing me how to move better and which muscles to use and how, I was shown some strengthening exercises and he used some dry-needling, it's a bit like acupuncture, which I wasn't too excited about but it did relieve my symptoms. He taped my knee and foot which felt weird but it did change the way I walked almost immediately. I returned for three further sessions which were more of the same with more exercises. It was never very difficult but I always felt I had done something. I run and play tennis and I'd been putting off going to a physio for months until the pain in my shoulder and knee got too much. I saw Gary, one of the physios in the clinic and he had me back running and playing tennis pain-free after 4 sessions. I didn't realise I was doing myself harm by moving in certain way and being a bit weak in a few areas. Gary changed how I moved my shoulder and gave me a few exercises and I can honestly say I haven't had any pain since. I still do a few exercises for maintenance which I think I'll keep up. Couldn't recommend higher!

All our Chiropractic Doctors are US trained. Spinal Decompression used for the treatment of disc injuries including bulging and herniated discs. Core Strengthening using Applied Therapeutic Mechanics. This  provides clinicians the practical ability to perform integrated passive and active therapy for musculo-skeletal disorders.  This approach aims to normalize movement impairments that are related to the patients’ complaints, as detected in the functional examination.  Using this approach, reevaluation is constantly monitored while the technique is performed to ensure a symptom free environment.  Body areas are mobilized until pain is eliminated. Active neuromuscular training is then prescribed.  These techniques are performed in the functional weight bearing position, and are continuously monitored to ensure that they are pain free throughout the intervention.  Suitable for almost all common Back, Neck, Shoulder, Knee, Pelvis, and Hip pain patients.
