Biography:
Peter qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist from Leeds in 1981. Since then he has worked both within the NHS and private hospitals as a senior physiotherapist in musculoskeletal conditions. In 1987 he worked in Toronto, Canada before returning home to take up the post of senior physiotherapist in charge of rehabilitation at Royal Albert Edward Infirmary. In 1992 he opened the Standish therapy centre which has developed and grown in reputation since having treated many professional sports men/women as well as TV celebrities. In 1994 he became head physiotherapist at Wigan Rugby League until leaving in 1998. Presently Peter works part time as an Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Practitioner at Leigh health centre and the rest of his time to improving services at Standish therapy centre.

Dr Michael Macdonald

Biography:
Micky qualified as a chartered physiotherapist in 1998. Since graduating he has worked within the NHS in the North West of England. His current role in the NHS is as an Advanced Musculoskeletal Practitioner which involves the diagnosis and management of disorders involving the shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand. Micky is also an experienced hand therapist working closely with an orthopaedic hand surgeon and is able to provide bespoke thermoplastic splints to manage painful hand conditions. Micky is also involved in teaching to both under and postgraduate physiotherapy students at Manchester Metropolitan University. He has worked privately in Standish for over ten years.

Dr Ruth Macdonald

Biography:
Ruth graduated from Liverpool University in 1995 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Physiotherapy and continued to work within the NHS in Liverpool and Wigan for 8 years. Ruth also worked privately at Fairfield Hospital and other local practices. Ruth currently works as a senior lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University teaching on the undergraduate and post graduate physiotherapy programmes. She also works in the MMU clinic, providing physiotherapy for the staff, students and general public. In 2006 Ruth gained an MSc in the management of neuromusculoskeletal dysfunction from Manchester University and is also a member of the Manipulation Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MMACP). As well as a keen interest in manual therapy (hands on treatment / mobilisation), Ruth also uses acupuncture for pain relief.
