Physiotherapist Biography:
Chris qualified as a physiotherapist in 2000 and has worked extensively in the private sector since 2004. He obtained a Masters Degree in Pain Management at the University of Leicester in 2009 (Department of Anaesthetics) which led to his clinical interest and subsequent speciality in low back pain.
His time over the last 7 years has been split between working at East Midlands Spine, alongside consultant spine specialist Mr Nick Birch, as his clinical researcher, and his own private practice. He holds two small clinics at Witty Pask and Buckingham in Northampton town centre but is now based primarily at the state of the art Chris Moody Rehabilitation Centre in Moulton.
Chris has designed and developed the patient education website ‘thebackdoor.org.uk’ which he continues to administrate as part of his role at EMS includes widely accessed range of patient focussed booklets for lumbar spine surgery rehabilitation.
He was the only physiotherapist to be part of the European FP7 Framework ‘Genodisc’ project investigating the role of genetics in intervertebral disc degeneration and potential cell therapies and is a voted member of the 'post project' steering committee and co-chair.
He has presented at local and international forums, in industry, and is co-author of publications in world leading journals including the European Spine Journal and the bone and Joint Journal.
