About The Bosworth Clinic

At The Bosworth Clinic we firmly believe the treatment and management process available to our top athletes can be available to all. Through an integrated approach, we will manage and treat your injury or dysfunction, provide appropriate functional rehabilitation to restore you to your pre-injury health and then provide a screening process followed by a preventative exercise program to help reduce the chances of you suffering with the same problem again.

The Bosworth Clinic is a new 'state of the art' facility situated in Cassington, Oxfordshire. It takes it name from its Clinical Director, Gordon Bosworth, who with his business partner Paul Snell, have created a Clinic to cater for any and all types of injury.  The Clinic boasts 6 large treatment rooms, including a disability suite, a large well equipped rehabilitation gym, which also provides male, female and disabled changing areas, pilates and yoga studio, a small astro turf area and two 50 metre running lanes. Parking is available at the front of the building with separate disabled parking and access.

Gordon spent his formative years in the Royal Air Force (1976-1992) as a Physical Education Officer where he trained as a Physiotherapist in 1980 and studied post grad with Osteopaths and Chiropractors as well as attending numerous courses. After several tours of duty on various units including Rehabilitation Units Headley Court and Chessington he left the RAF to take up the positionof Head of Rehabilitation at the Police Rehab Centre in Goring on Thames and at the same time moved into Private Practice.

He has been the Senior Governing Body Physiotherapist to the British Bobsleigh and Bob-Skeleton Team (1996-2006 including 4 years as Performance Director) and was a member of the Great Britain Teams at the Winter Olympic Games in Nagano (1998), Japan, Salt Lake City (2002), USA and Torino, Italy (2006). Medical Lead for the Canadian Speed Skating Team ( Long & Short Track) at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games and most recently as Chief Physiotherapist to United Kingdom Athletics/British Athletics at the London Olympic Games 2012.

Gordon has been involved in Sport for most of his life and in Elite Sport since 1992. Specializing in Performance related issues.   He has acted as a Consultant to several Professional football teams including Bolton Wanderers FC, Liverpool FC, Wigan Athletic FC, Derby County FC, Queens Park Rangers FC and currently consulting for Sunderland AFC, Cornish Pirates Rugby Team and British Athletics.

Gordon passionatley believes in striving for excellence and making sure the service he and his colleagues provide is the best it can be. To this end he spends many hours improving his knowledge and skills and an equal number of hours mentoring and teaching others. Sherry is driven by obtaining the quickest sustainable results possible for her patients.

Sherry qualified as a Personal Trainer/Massage Therapist in the 90's where she spent many years working as a Therapist/Trainer and Manager within the health and fitness industry.

Sherry later trained as a Physiotherapist at St George's Hospital Medical School.  Since qualifying as a Physiotherapist Sherry has worked in Australia and predominately in the UK in a variety of Government, NHS, Mental Health, Private Practice and Ministry of Defence positions.

Her years spent working in the military dictated that the soldier and elite athlete must return to optimal function in the quickest timeframe possible. Hence, Sherry has invested her learning and development into further post-grad study of biomechanics, human movement and the optimisation of the mind-body connection.

~~Andrea qualified in 2013 with a MSc Physiotherapy degree from Glasgow Caledonian University. Prior to this she studied for 4 years in Canada to earn a BSc Honors degree with a Specilisation in Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario, which has given her a strong background in biomechanics and exercise physiology. After graduating with her bachelors degree in 2009, Andrea gained experience in 3D gait analysis while carrying out a research role at the Running Injury Clinic in Calgary, Canada.  Since then, she has devoted her experience as a physiotherapist and kinesiologist to helping anyone from everyday joggers to elite athletes prevent and rehabilitate from injuries.

Andrea is an enthusiastic and motivated physiotherapist that aims to optimise an individuals wellbeing and achieve their goals by improving movement patterns, idenfity and correct abnormal biomechanics using 3D motion analysis, utilizing hands on treatment, and providing tailored exercise programmes.

Mr Lee Short

~~Lee Short obtained his first degree in Podiatry (BSc) in 1994 and in 2005. He obtained a post graduate Master's Degree in Clinical Podiatric Biomechanics, one of the first specialist degrees of its kind in the country. He has over 20 years' experience as a podiatrist, working for the NHS and Ministry of Defence. Most of his experience has been in the field of podiatric biomechanics and musculoskeletal podiatry, with specialisation in functional rehabilitation.

Since obtaining his post graduate biomechanics degree, he has continued to study human movement and dysfunction. Lee completed many hours study in the analysis and assessment of movement dysfunction, via post graduate study with kinetic control, the running matrix - performance solutions and the running clinic. Lee has also provided numerous lectures and conference presentations on the podiatrist's role in the management of running injuries.

Before joining the team at The Bosworth Clinic, Lee worked for many years as an extended scope practitioner in the NHS, specialist clinician in rehabilitation teams within the Ministry of Defence and he is currently providing musculoskeletal podiatry in his private practice.

Lee has developed a specialist interest/knowledge in running analysis and rehabilitation. He has vast experience working with the general public, professional sports personnel as well as regular, extensive work in the rehabilitation of injured military recruits and regular personnel.

Lee is able to offer, in conjunction with the team at The Bosworth Clinic, expert advice based on the latest research evidence and current trends. He is a keen recreational runner and enjoys windsurfing and walking with his family.

Helen Money holds a BSc(Hons) in Human Nutrition and provides nutritional advice based on scientific evidence. She works with clients to enable them to perform to the best of their ability be it on the sports field, in the boardroom or at home.

Helen provides advice and diet plans to support clients in a range of areas including weight loss, weight gain, management of symptoms of IBS and other gut conditions, stress, fatigue, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, health maintenance, injury prevention and sports nutrition.

Formerly a fund manager, Helen worked in the City for 16 years. She is focused on ensuring that clients achieve their goals and that advice is achievable and sustainable in their working environment. Helen is also the mother of two young children and appreciates the importance of eating well during pregnancy, the pressures of family life and the responsibilities of teaching children to eat well.

After spending several years in London (Mayfair and Knightsbridge) Personal Training and treating a number of celebrities and VIPs, Paul moved back to the Cotswolds and opened his own clinics, including a clinic providing direct services to Oxford University, as a result, was highly successful in providing Sports Therapy, Rehabilitation and Functional Personal Training to a number of full/ half blue University Teams.

Paul has built a strong reputation in Sports Massage and Personal Training which is underpinned by his Professional approach and considerable knowledge. His expertise combines soft tissue skills, exercise knowledge and appropriate Functional Movement Screens when working with the musculoskeletal system.
