Job Title:
  Physiotherapist
Specialisations:
  Exercise Medicine,Physiotherapy,Sports Medicine,
Biography:

Kirsty is a highly experienced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist who qualified, with honors, from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen in 1996 and went on to do a Postgraduate diploma in Manipulative Physiotherapy from Curtin University, Perth, Western Australia in 2000.

Her specialties include sports injuries, occupational health and general management of musculoskeletal disorders. Kirsty’s previous experience has included private practice and occupational health work both in the Scotland and New Zealand.

Since 2007 Kirsty has been working in High Performance sport with Sportscotland Institute of Sport where she has had responsibility for the treatment and management of athletes from Judo, Swimming, Curling, Wheelchair Curling, Golf, Badminton, Snowsport and Hockey. This has ranged from development of the younger athlete through to Olympic and Paralympic athletes. She has travelled extensively with her work and was privileged to be one of the Physiotherapists in TeamGB covering the Winter Paralympics in Vancouver in 2010.

Her passion lies in the management of the individual – from problem solving causes of pain, injury and dysfunction to guiding the patient through the treatment, management and rehabilitation process.

Her own sporting interests include mountain biking and running and also skiing and snowboarding when she gets the chance. She also has a passion for travel and enjoying the outdoors!

Within a few minutes of meeting Kirsty and starting my consultation I felt she got a better idea immediately of where my problems lay. Following my first treatment I felt a huge improvement and the following weeks saw this continue…I feel better now than I have in years and I am confident that with Kirsty support I will be able to maintain this.

Mr Perry Waterland

Job Title:
  Physiotherapist
Specialisations:
  Physiotherapy,Exercise Medicine,Sport and Exercise Science,Sports Medicine,
Languages:
  English,
Biography:
I initially graduated from the Australian Catholic University in 2010 as an exercise scientist followed by moving straight into a Master of Physiotherapy Studies at the University of Queensland in 2012 and qualifying as a physiotherapist. Being an avid follower of a variety of sports I couldn’t help but find myself working alongside athletes ranging from the recreational to elite. I have worked in rugby and Australian Rules Football (AFL) clubs as a team physiotherapist, but have also consulted to athletes in sports including basketball, gymnastics, running, triathlon, football, mixed martial arts and cycling to name a few. With a diversity such as this I feel comfortable assessing, treating and assisting both athletes and the general public with their conditions, whether it be training loads or a work place injury. As a secondary niche, I also like to treat vertigo and dizziness conditions as they can range from the quickly curable Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV) to the complicated balance retraining of a Menere’s or stroke patient. These conditions can be utterly debilitating at times, so to see someone recover is very fulfilling.
