She is also a PhD candidate and active on professional development, as she continuously participates as well as organising seminars and workshops. 

Loukia Dimitriou-Lysioti is a Psychologist and a Systemic Family Psychotherapist in the private domain in Larnaca. She works with children, young people, adults, couples and families, who experience a wide range of difficulties and circumstances, as well as relationship problems. These include, family communication problems, child and adolescent behaviour difficulties, mental health problems, couple relationship difficulties, traumatic experiences, loss and bereavement, eating disorders and more. She has studied Psychology (BSc) at Spalding University, USA, and completed her postgraduate studies in Family Therapy (PGDip & MSc), and Psychopathology (MSc) at the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College University in the UK. In the USA she worked at a child and adolescent mental health hospital, and as a crisis counsellor for people with various mental health difficulties. In the UK she worked in diverse mental health centres for children and adolescent, in couple and family therapy services, and in two specialised eating disorder units in London. Loukia Dimitriou-Lysioti is a member of the Association for Family Therapy (AFT) in the UK, and the secretary of the Cyprus Society of Family Therapy (CySoFT). Loukia is also involved with the Cyprus Eating Disorders Association and gives seminars/workshops to students, educators and parents in eating disorders. Loukia is married and has a little boy. 

I am a qualified Chartered Psychologist offering evidence-based psychological/counselling services in the North East of England.  I specialise in working with depression, anxiety (panic attacks, worry, generalised anxiety, trauma, obsessive compulsive disorder and phobias), and sleep disorders including insomnia, nightmares and night time waking.  I pride myself on results and commitment to provide a professional and high quality service at all times. I offer face-to-face, Skype and Facetime sessions, as well as regular workshops and speaking at public events. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and British Psychological Society (BPS), and offer a number of effective approaches including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and CBT for insomnia (CBT-I), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), solution focussed therapy, family therapy, as well as facilitating regular mindfulness meditation groups.

My therapy  room is at the heart of Prestatyn, therefore easily accessible to clients from the surrounding areas of Denbighshire, Flintshire, Conwy and Gwynedd. It is easily accessible from Prestatyn Bus Station and Prestatyn Train Station. There is a free public car par within easy walking distance for most people and disabled parking closer to.  My therapy room is a private, relaxed and comfortable room within a Chiropractic Centre and a waiting room, public toilet and a drink of water are available when you arrive. Please announce yourself to the receptionist on arrival.  My room is up some stairs but a chair lift is available if necessary.
