Cassian Sweeney Counselling - Psychotherapy Clinic in Ireland

Cassian Sweeney Counselling

Carpenterstown, Dublin, Dublin 15

The therapist is brilliant, I couldn't recommend her highly enoughPatrick, Ireland, 14 05 18

I'd gone through some issues around losing my mother, felt very lost and was struggling when it hit me. Cassian has been brilliant, I've completely turned around from where I was. Believe me, I didn't see any daylight or think it could be turned around but it could and it was! I'm keeping it up now a lot less frequently but it's something I'll probably keep doing too, Cassian is very easy to talk to and get things out there with. Cassian is brilliant, I couldn't recommend her highly enough.

Anne-Louise Foley Counselling at The Healing House - Psychotherapy Clinic in Ireland

Anne-Louise Foley Counselling at The Healing House

The Healing House, 24 O'Connell Avenue, Berkeley Road, Dublin 7
I'm currently offering both face to face* and also online counselling. If you're feeling stuck in your life, or anxious, stressed, or depressed, counselling can help. I believe that you have the resources within yourself to find answers and resolve your difficulties, but may need a bit of help on this journey.  I work in an integrative way, meaning that I will use elements from different areas of psychotherapy in order to help you develop a stronger and healthier sense of yourself. It is helpful to gain some insight into the cause of the problem, and then work together with you on finding ways forward.  I hold a BA (hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy from ICHAS (the Irish College of Humanities & Applied Sciences) and am an accredited member of the APCP and also a registered member of the BACP. I have experience and knowledge in trauma and have trained in EMDR and am currently training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, a body-focused treatment for trauma.  Most recently I have trained in couples co)unselling and am now seeing couples. Please contact me for further information if this is a service you require. *I see clients primarily at the Healing House in Phibsboro but am also based at Willow Tree Clontarf (on Friday mornings)

Stress Management €70
At New Leaf Acupuncture, Dublin, we recognise that stress can manifest itself in the body in many ways – sleep disorders, gastrointestinal issues, immune system weakness, pains in the body, etc. We look for and treat the root of their cause. Acupuncture can help to reverse the above changes. It increases serotonin production while also releasing the body’s natural pain- killers, endorphins and enkephalins and decreases cortisol secretion. Patients report feeling more relaxed and focused after an acupuncture session. As the treatments continue, patients often notice that “things that used to really bother me no longer do.”
Weight Control €70
Few people might find the idea of being placed by needles quite soothing in their search for weight control. However, this ancient Chinese alternative therapy tries to deliver a control device, enabling the patient to handle hunger desires more properly in the long run. In Acupuncture, there are particular spots on the body being targeted from the hair-like needles. As these items are put by the needles, certain hormones are produced through the body. These substances work by helping you control hunger and effectively control the impulse to binge.
Menopause Care €70
From 1997 to 1999, in one of the first studies in the US to explore the effectiveness of acupuncture in alleviating hot flashes, insomnia and nervousness, it was found that during the course of acupuncture treatments, hot flashes decreased by 35% and insomnia decreased by 50%. A follow-up study revealed hot flashes significantly decreased in those receiving acupuncture, compared to those receiving routine care. A 2002 pilot study in England found that acupuncture reduced the frequency and severity of hot flashes in women being treated for breast cancer.

Connecting Mindfully (counselling & psychotherapy) - Psychotherapy Clinic in Ireland
5.0 from 1 verified review
When something in your life is not how you'd like it to be, or when you're looking for help and support for something that you're going through; perhaps a life event, a particular concern or maybe problems with relationships, at home, in school or at work. Maybe you are experiencing feelings of anxiety, frustration, fear, sadness or other emotions.  Stress can be a part of this.  Counselling can help you to better understand what might be going on for you, and to find ways to effectively manage feelings, thoughts or worries.  My experience is that clients come to counselling because they want something in their life to be different. I appreciate that it's often not easy to come to counselling. I welcome clients with warmth and openness, and a non-judgemental listening ear. I am a Person-Centred Therapist and I use ACT, CBT and Choice Theory to help clients work through an issue or to help them shine a new light on an area of their life that is not currently how they would like it to be. Sometimes what we need is to be listened to and heard.  Coming to see a therapist is a brave step towards getting support.  Allowing yourself to talk about and express what you are experiencing might be what you need at this time.  We often don't 'press pause' in our lives, we often don't give ourselves the time or space to check in with ourselves.
