I’m now pain-free and more flexible than I’ve been for yearsFrank, Ireland, 25 01 24

On the recommendation of my G.P., I attended Prathap Midathala of the Crosslanes Physiotherapy Clinic with a swollen ankle due to a fall. During the session, I told him about a 35-year neck injury. After a course of his treatments and doing his recommended exercises, I’m now pain-free and more flexible than I’ve been for years. I would recommend him to all age groups.

What a great experienceHugh, Ireland, 20 12 22

Robbie Smyth and the Physio Performance team were great. I had a long term achilles tendon problem. When I first attended the clinic Robbie said that I might even need surgery. However, with the correct treatment, exercises and gym work I am now nearly 100%. It took nearly a year to rehabilitate but with the treatment and a lot of hard work in the gym, I was eventually able to run the Dublin City Marathon last October. What a great experience. Thanks Robbie.

Exercise Therapy
Put simply, the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is a ranking and grading system that documents movement patterns that are key to normal function. By screening these patterns, the FMS readily identifies functional limitations and asymmetries. These are issues that can reduce the effects of functional training and physical conditioning and distort body awareness. “We now use this program (Functional Movement System) with every player as a pretest and evaluation tool before we even begin to train them. This individualizes our training as we can now focus more on improving weaknesses, imbalances and asymmetries in an effort to improve functional movement patterns. Not only that, its an integral part of our program; rehabilitating injuries, decisions on return to play, and its a test before training camp that tells us: 1) has the player improved? 2) do we feel good about putting him on the field?”Jon Torine, Head Strength Coach, Indianapolis Colts, NFL.
Back Pain
Dry Needling involves multiple advances of a filament needle into the muscle in the region of a “Trigger Point’. The aim of Dry Needling is to achieve a local twitch response to release muscle tension and pain. Dry needling is an effective treatment for chronic pain of neuropathic origin with very few side effects. This technique is unequaled in finding and eliminating neuromuscular dysfunction that leads to pain and functional deficits. The needle used is very thin and most subjects do not even feel it penetrate the skin. A healthy muscle feels very little discomfort with insertion of this needle. However if the muscle is sensitive and shortened or has active trigger points within it, the subject will feel a sensation like a muscle cramp -‘the twitch response’. The patient also may feel a reproduction of “their” pain which is a helpful diagnostic indicator for the practitioner attempting to diagnose the cause of the patients symptoms. Patients soon learn to recognize and even welcome this sensation as it results in deactivating the trigger point, reducing pain and restoring normal length function to the involved muscle.
