Welcome to Maynooth Counselling and Psychotherapy, Maynooth’s most established private practice of qualified professional counsellors. Our counsellors cater to the wide range of emotional, psychological and relational issues presented and work with children, teenagers, adults, couples and families. We do so in a warm, grounded, ethical and non-judgemental way and respect the often vulnerable and painful feelings of our clients and the sensitive nature of what they may present. The centre itself was set up nearly 10 years ago by two therapists Evanna Lyons and Antonia Colom who saw a need for private counselling in the Maynooth area. The practice has since grown to include four qualified and caring therapists who endeavor to adhere to best practice at all times and keep updated on the latest training and continuous professional development. All are accredited members of the Irish Association of Counselling Psychotherapists.  We offer a low cost service (euro40-60) as we believe no client should be turned away on the basis of cost.  

I am a professionally qualified counsellor psychotherapist holding a BSc (Hons.) in Counselling and Psychotherapy.  Having a commitment to continued professional development, I have a Certificate in Gestalt Therapy and am currently undertaking training in issues of sexual violence with the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre. I am a fully accredited member of IACP and adhere to their professional standards and code of ethics in my practice. My training is humanistic and integrative incorporating person centred, psychodynamic, CBT and Gestalt therapies. I adapt my approach to that which is most appropriate and beneficial for the client. Central to my way of working is to create a safe, confidential and compassionate space where clients can begin a process of exploring aspects of their lives which are of concern to them. I have many years experience working with people in the area of mental health and wellbeing, including over four years working as a counsellor psychotherapist in Pieta House supporting people struggling with suicidal thoughts and engaging in deliberate self-harm. I am experienced in working with clients presenting with issues such as Depression, Stress and Anxiety, Loss and Grief, Relationship Issues, Low Self Esteem, Spirituality, Suicide and Deliberate Self Harm. I work empathically and collaboratively with adult individuals on a one to one basis.

A detailed initial assessment of the needs of patients is conducted and single treatment sessions or sessions combining services are scheduled according to the unique needs of patients. Late evening sessions are scheduled to accommodate the busy schedules of patients. New Path Counselling is a private practice providing counselling and psychotherapy located in Maynooth, Co. Kildare, owned and managed by Lynne O Reilly. I offer Counselling and Psychotherapy to individuals, couples and adolescents in order to help them overcome any difficulties or challenges they are facing in their lives. My name is Jennifer Welton. I am a fully qualified counsellor/psychotherapist. I work within the strict professional and ethical guidelines set-forth by the Irish Association of Counselling Practitioners. I specialise in the treatment of alcohol abuse and help clients achieve where possible moderation management. I have a depth of experience in the areas of anxiety, depression and relationship and or sexual issues.  I work from a centre in Celbridge accessible to clients from Kildare, West Dublin and surrounding areas. Darren is a qualified Humanistic and Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, a graduate of Turning Point Training Institute and Dublin City University (DCU) (Level 9).Darren has worked for the past seven years in Mental Health with organisations such as University College Dublin (UCD), Newlands Institute for Counselling, Personal Counselling Center Naas & the SamaritansDarren's theoretical background is in Humanistic/Integrative psychotherapy while incorporating psychodynamic and cognitive behaviour therapy. This approach to therapy acknowledges the unique nature of every client and allows for a therapeutic approach that best meets the requirements of each individual.
